Anyone ever try fixing a sole DIY style?

I have a pair of Kobe 8's that I got Nike ID'd. I thought ordering an XDR outsole would help it last outdoors. 2 months of hooping later and the soles are smashed.

I learned from my mistakes and went and bought a cheap pair for Air Max Stutter Steps for $65, and the traction is much better for outdoor play, but it feels like *** compared to the Kobes.

Now I went and did some Googling and found that some motorcross riders use something called Shoe Goo or Sikaflex to repair worn out soles so they can extend the life of their shoes. It's meant to be some sort of stuff that dries up in a similar consistency to rubber.

Should I try throwing a layer of this stuff onto my Kobes and see if I can re-use them, or do you think it will end up ruining my kicks completely?

I have this idea that if it ends up working I can just keep applying every few weeks, and since I play on some REAL crappy rough courts, everything grips anyway.

i wouldn't add a layer of rubber to the bottom of your soles. the strength it has to the sole will not be as strong as you think and i would have to pray for you once that bond breaks.
