As far as Bonds goes, I'm talking about prior to the steroid "allegations". So with that being said Bonds was not self-inflicted and neither was Kareem's from their individual standpoint.Bonds was self inflicted. Was Kareems?
I agree. Being an a-hole to the media doesn't deserve to inflict any negative perception on your legacy on the field.

If I did that then your response wouldnt have existed. Everyone would have picked Durant and that would have been boring. The opportunity for discussion was there by making them one franchise.Oklahoma City Thunder/Seattle SuperSonics - Durant
this needs to be eliminated from this thread.
Seattle Supersonics- Gary Payton
Tumbleweed Town Thunder- Kevin Durant

Not to be cocky, but I think this is the most accurate response so far. Anyone care to bring up a reasonable rebuttal?
Also, I think the city name should be excluded, because that's just further refining who we can pick. ie. Clippers, Jazz, Kings, Hawks all apply.
Also, fun fact--Did you guys know that the Grizzles and Hornets never had a hall of fame player ever play for the franchise? Not even a HOF'er who played there for one year i.e Patrick Ewing in Orlando type deal

Kareem played more games as a laker than Magic
and was more successful as laker than kobe
Kareem's personality just rubbed some the wrong way i guess
Man, this statement as it is must be in the Kobe "doctrine" for all of his fans to recite verbatim whenever Kobe or his legacy is challengedKobe carried Kwame, Smush, and Luke Walton into the playoffs and he got 4th.
Yeah, no.
First, Magic was clearly "taken" from the Lakers. We all know full well, if not for HIV, Magic plays on for another 4-5 years, so playing 100 games less than Kareem is not a big deal.
And when all those folks jump up and down about Kobe didn't do anything without Shaq, see Kareem's 4 years of absolute nothing until the day Magic gets there and transforms them into a title winner.
As for Kobe/Kareem, Cap won MVP's in the 70's with lesser records, the same thing that was not allowed for Kobe when they were giving the award to Steve Nash, huge difference. ****, Kareem was given the MVP his first year in LA with a LOSING RECORD. Kobe carried Kwame, Smush, and Luke Walton into the playoffs and he got 4th.
Much easier in the 70's to win awards and such as long as you were great. Not the same in the 2000's. Reason why Shaq, Kobe, KG, Dirk, all only have 1, Cap won like 5-6 in the 70's pre Magic, pre Bird, pre MJ, etc.

To me no ones better than kareem....all time leading scorer with no 3s...say no morenobody considers Kareem the GOAT of anything, even though his career accomplishments clearly merit it.
its largely because he's a jerk.
I disagree about the fun part, but it's all personal preference. I think many fans identify more easily with the small players.I think part of the reason big men don't get the credit they deserve, is because they have to rely on a teammate to get them the ball. As unfair as that may be. Also, its just not as fun to watch a big man go to work (with the exception of Hakeem and Shaq IMO)
dude just wanted to throw shots and diphow so?You're really showing your age
