Curious as to why so many people dont have LeBron James for the Heat.

Great conversation.

I do think you'd have to separate the question "is it the best player of all-time for that happened to play for that franchise?" or "the player that was the best for that franchise?"

....if that makes sense...

Why aren't people saying Luc Longley for Chicago though...

You've listed mostly people you can remember ie Melo for Denver, Cwebb for Kings. They are NOT the best players to play for those franchises.

Yeah, Sorry. Auto correct wouldn't let me put in Lew. Kept changing into Jew or Lou.

Wade is clearly the player for Miami IMO.
Many people would put Russell over Bird for Celtics too.
Kobe has his case for Lakers over Magic as well.
Same goes for Ewing for Knicks.
Shaq was in Orland for 4 seasons, and you call him the Greatest player for Orlando?
Archibald also pales in comparison to Big O.

the most accurate response?

Why Wade? Just because he won once with Shaq and twice with Lebron? Zo meant more to the Heat when they first started out and did way more for the community of Miami. Till this day, Alonzo Mourning is with the Heat organization and plays a vital role within the team operations.

Bill Russel did win a lot for Boston, but it was Larry Bird who magnified the Celtics into popularity during the 80's when him and Magic were going at it. In the 60's Bill Russel was overlooked by Wilt.

Kobe has played more for the Lakers, but again...Magic was the leader of the team and helped Kareem win once he got to LA. The younger generation will obviously say Kobe, but it's really Magic Johnson who is the greatest Laker ever.

 Ewing for the Knicks? **** out of here. Walt "Clyde" Frazier practically owns almost every Knicks record and was the leader of those Knicks championship teams. Patrick Ewing was a great player, but he could never resonate the Garden like "Clyde"

Name me a better player to play for Orlando? You can honestly say Tmac or Penny was better than Shaq in those 4 year he was there? Look at the numbers, Papi.

Look at Bill Russel argument

Uhh it's definitely Ewing.

Has the record for games, minutes played, field goals, free throws, rebounds, steals, blocks, and points.

Walt Frazier is the leader in assists...and that's it.

"did way more for the community of miami"

"magnified the celtics into popularity"

"leader of the team that helked kareem win" (so kobe didnt lead teams to championships?)

how are you going to end the post with "look at the numbers, papi" when the first half of your post is random stuff that has nothing to do with numbers?

russell overlooked by wilt when almost every player from that era considers him a better player?

how are you going to talk about shaq being the best basketball player in orlando while putting zo over wade because of his support for the community and front office help? if that is what we are looking at then jerry west would be the greatest laker ever

Where are you with Russell, Bird?

Is Pierce your 3, or someone else from an older gen (Cousy?)

Hard to say because I didn't live through Russell's era and only caught the tail end of Bird's and even then I wasn't really old enough to understand what I was watching plus obviously we don't have anywhere near the amount of data for those guys that we do now. Unfortunately we don't even have basic blocks for Russell, let alone on court/off court, SportVu data, etc.

All I have to go on are books by Auerbach, Russell, Jackie Mac, Bob Ryan, Simmons, etc and some dusty old VHS tapes of Bird, that's about the best I can do. But I would probably go

1. Russell
2. Bird
3. Pierce

everyone says russ as greatest c's but the next three has to be bird/hondo/pierce grouped together

I was going to write rebuttal for your dumb-witted replies, but as you are already soundly beat by other guys, I guess I don't have to
