been revisiting the wire recently, i can see more and more parallels between ghost and string. string's ambition to get out the game is what did him in. string needed avon more than he realized, much like ghost and tommy. but ghost and string got to the end of their wits, too selfish and started ousting their right hand for not wanting to go legit. tommy knows there's no other world for him, why chance it? avon was the same. it's more of a risk to adjust to a new world than it is to stay afloat in this dirty one. ghost might die tomorrow b.
