And yet production cost stays the same.. |I

My man, the cats in China manufacturing Nike/JB junk have become smarter and charge them more for 'desirable' product vs. the undesirable product - so there is a difference in production cost vs. a decade ago. IIRC, the factories also get a cut if a particular model does very well (shoe sells out at MSRP) as opposed to manufacturing the shoe, shipping it and forgetting about it like it was in the past.

That said these shoes don't cost Nike even $20 to manufacture - it is far, far less but they (Nike/JB) have had their bottom line impacted in the past 4-5 years.

I don't support Nike/JB prices or their product quality but as 160Jordansdeep said - they are shrewd and actively monitor the resell prices. It is in their best interests to find a happy medium between the MSRP and resell prices - and eliminate the reseller altogether. You will keep on seeing yearly price increases until products end up sitting and require discounts to move.

Boxden is a source? Come on man

That's been posted up here and other sites for a few days now

and I'm thinking it will be the $190 for the XI

Well, that settles that.
Was looking into retiring anyways, but JB made that decision for me.
It's bad enough with the declining quality and constant raising of prices, but I gotta draw the line somewhere. Besides when you have over 200+ pairs of sneakers, reality is that I prob won't be able to beat them all into the ground in this lifetime.

All the shoes I ever missed out on as a kid and all the 90's bball classics have been retro'd already anyways. Thank you JB, it's been a great ride.

Not much I want anyway.

I bet a lot of it has to do with the XVI thru XX3's that are bound to start happening and the prices they were.

they been testing the waters of a 200 regular price for a while now, for me it'll make retros a rare treat instead of a must cop and might free me up to look at other brands or put funds to other use. resellers are sick tho

Need confirmation from a more reliable source than be but if true just like most especially the older heads I've been buying fewer J's over the past 2 years . Their either releasing shoes with crazy Colorways I just can't see myself wearing at 33 or a lot of stuff I already have or shoes I never liked. I know for some it's hard to believe but everybody didn't like every j that was released back in the day. Saying that growing up when I did and MJ having that impact on me that he did as a kid there will always be a shoe that I want so I'll never be completely retired. But if jordan brand goes through with this or keeps it up I'm gone. Don't believe me ? Just watch

concord lows and columbias and im out, nothing in between those two shoes coming out so im good.

enjoy paying $200+ with tax for trash

glad im not a sucker

I'll wait until there's confirmation from JB that this is true before I voice my displeasure.

I ain't eem mad. I got a bad analogy for yall tho. Say you sell drugs. Your selling your weed $10 a bag. People buying from you then selling it for $20 to $25. What would you do? I've pretty much been selective with retro purchases the past 2 years. Only grab what I really want. This just makes it easier

We don't need any confirmations we all know the power of Niketalk especially when it's sneaker news. This saddens me greatly but **** Mark Parker in my Kanye West voice.

looks like kobe for 2 more years, lebron and kd for whatever years they stay in the league. jordans? only a very select few.

We all also know that everything posted on here doesn't always come true. It's not even like this info came from a trusted member. I'll wait until JB confirms. Either way, if they do or don't raise the prices, it doesn't really affect me. I got nearly every shoe from them I ever wanted. It would just disgust me at how greedy they could be to raise the prices again after a $10 increase last year for no reason other than "Because, shut up."

I know right... Just the imagine the price of the AJ17 when it ever decides to retro.
