Jordan retro's will get a $20 increase this holiday season..

Not sure the exact increase but my guy with a jordan account said prices are going up around the holidays

This was expected. Everything sells out from retros at $170 to the Lab series that was $225. As long as the shoes sell out in minutes they will continue doing this. I'm actually surprised the increase in prices hasn't happened at a faster rate the way things have been lately.

Said I was gonna retire in December, and this seals if it happens. I'm still getting the Black Infrareds and the Columbias, and then i'm done. I'll only come back for the aqua 8s, and after that i'm done again.

im gonna be very upset if this is true. i will still cop select releases, but definitely not as many as i have the past few years.

gonna have to be real selective and only buy the shoes i think i will wear the most and that look the best to me.

ALOT OF U GUYS HIT THE PROBLEM RIGHT ON THE NAIL... WE AS CONSUMERS ARE TO BLAME FOR THE STEADY PRICE HIKES... I MEAN, LOOK AT IT FROM JB's PERSPECTIVE... THEY PUT A SHOE OUT FOR A CERTAIN PRICE POINT, AND UPON RELEASE, PEOPLE ARE WILLIN' TO PAY DOUBLE, SOMETIMES TRIPLE THE RETAIL VALUE ON THE RESELL MARKET ! SO JORDAN BRAND's TRAIN OF THOUGHT IS "SHOOT, IF THEY'RE WILLIN' TO PAY $375-$400 FOR A SHOE WE PRICED AT $170, THEY SHOULDN'T COMPLAIN ABOUT US RAISING THE PRICE BY $20,RIGHT?"

WE HAVE TO REALIZE AS CONSUMERS THAT WE CONTROL THE MARKET, AND WE HOLD THE POWER TO CONTROL WHAT THESE SNEAKER COMPANIES DO... IF WE CONTINUE TO SPEND RIDICULOUS AMOUNTS OF MONEY ON THE RESELL MARKET,THEN JORDAN BRAND WILL CONTINUE TO JUSTIFY THEIR REASONING FOR THE PRICE HIKES. ON THE FLIP SIDE, IF WE STOPPED CREATING INFLATED HYPE ON THE KICKS, THE DEMAND WOULD DECREASE, AND JB WOULD BE FORCED TO MAKE CHANGES BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT MOVIN' UNITS (WHICH TECHNICALLY ISN'T TRUE, BECAUSE ONCE THESE RETAILERS LIKE FTL, FNL, AND CHAMPS BUY THESE KICKS FROM JB, THEY'VE ALREADY MADE THEIR MONEY...BUT U KNOW WHAT I MEAN,LOL.)

BUT BOTTOM LINE IS... WE CAN'T BE MAD AT JB FOR RAISING PRICES IF WE'RE WILLIN' TO PAY THESE CRAZY PRICES TO THESE RESELLERS(WHICH I'VE PERSONALLY HAVE NEVER DONE, AND WILL NEVER DO.) JB IS A BUSINESS , AND IT'S THEIR MAIN OBJECTIVE TO MAXIMIZE PROFITS!

AS FOR ME, I'M SLOWLY PHASING OUT OF COLLECTING J's... I MEAN ENOUGH IS ENOUGH OF THEIR MONEY GOUGING PRACTICES... EVEN THOUGH I UNDERSTAND THEIR REASONING, I CAN'T KEEP SUPPORTING DUDE WHEN HE CLEARLY IS ONLY LOOKIN' OUT FOR HIS POCKETS,SMH. HOLLA...

 @ "done again"

"Done" usually = extended hiatus

I feel you and everybody else on being more selective however, I'd be perfectly fine if I never copped another JB sneaker... ever. My passion for sneakers does not hang on the whim of Jordan Brand. I think all too often people mistake Jordan Brand as sneaker culture when it really is just apart of sneaker culture, albeit a very large part. Too many reasonably priced hot kicks releasing from other brands (Nike included) for me to pitch a fit about Jordan's ever diminishing quality and constant price increases.

well nike is making it easy now to just pick and choose what you like instead of buying everything lol. the quality of the shoe doesn't even live up to the price tag, at least they could do that but nope.

Smh why $20 more this year? If thats the case I am probably only gonna get the black infrared 6s this holiday season.

they will still go up as long as right after they set a retail price an hour later everyone is posting them online for $100 more and everyone is buying them

So will shoes eventually be too much to afford??? Anybody seeing that?? Y'all don't think at one point they'll just stop raising prices?? Before y'all come at me, yes I know Nike/Jordan are money hungry gangsters throat ******* our wallets. But seriously.........
everything is made to be consumed. they'll only charge what people are willing to pay. we're def in a bubble right now, so we'll see in the next year or two how big it goes

This is all part of Nike's plan for JB to become a "premium brand." They want it on the level of the European brands. My girl is a buyer and works in the fashion industry and she knew about Nike's plans for the longest.

You're being priced out. Nike doesn't want lower or middle class people wearing Jordan Brand. It tarnishes the brand's value. Pretty soon, they'll have to choose something to sacrifice: my rent, my groceries, my car payment or my Jordans...

To be honest I don't think Jordan Brand has anything on Nike except for their #'ed Jordan Retro's For them to try to make Jordan brand a Premium Brand they need to make alot less garbage Jordan  Products and limit where their stuff is sold.

Not to mention upping the prices to "premium" status would alienate the vast majority of their customer base. That's a lot of money lost and we all know that's not how Nike/JB work.

Most of the retros I bought since the 11/12 cdp I've returned due to crap quality so I was pretty much out anyway.

The xiv bred- had the OG, was disgusted with the retro quality.

White red xii- don't remember the quality but the fit was terrible and uncomfortable so returned them.

Olympic vi- again, shameful quality.

Cavs iv- quality was actually pretty decent on these and they looked real good. But I sold them to pay for a pair of xx8s as they are a lot more comfortable.

The sigs are pretty a good and at least they  make them fit for their intended purpose- to play basketball. But the prices for them are even worse than on retros.

Not to mention the price of retros  in Europe is about $220, which I am not prepared to pay for a shoe with cheaper materials than the originals.

If they eventually retro XVI-XIX and the XX3 without taking out the cushioning so I can ball in them and at least use semi decent materials, I'll buy. But for badly made I-XIVs? The beasts and resellers can have them. That's JB's target market now anyway.

People need to learn some self-control and not buy into all the hype. Not every release has to be copped just because they are Jordans. This price increase is happening because everything sells out nowadays, even the complete crap they drop. Tony Wroten's 10's fell apart on court, and JB had the nerve to make it a 20$ increase, with a steady decrease in quality.

JB better use that 20$ to take me out for dinner before they **** me over with those prices.

Dumbest ish I've read. In Europe Nike's don't fly off shelves, and Addidas does a little better. So price out the great majority of your North American market where all the money is? Hell naw.

They increase cuz they sell out, and they know people drop hundreds on a single shoe in the resell market. They're not trying to become a premium brand. If that were the case their facilities would have to begin using real leather

With this increase people will still buy. I know I won't. Nike doesn't even produce things I'm interested in.

After the past few years I have almost all I want. I will be very selective and only buy missing pieces nor solid new colorways.
