My fellow 9-5ers, what do you bring to work for lunch?

i usual bring leftovers from dinner... i live at home and dont cook so i guess i got it easy... my mom sometimes brings sandwiches from her meetings at work and gives it to me... today i got italian sandwich and chicken caesar wrap with chips... she brings home the most random food but its better then spending money...i try to buy lunch only once a week to save money and to treat myself but sometimes i order out twice a week...

I usually grill a lot of meat (Chicken breast, Chicken thigh, pork loin, steaks, etc) at a time so I dont have to cook every day.

Last night I grilled about 8 boneless skinless chicken thighs

I pair a couple pieces of meat with a couple cups of veggies (broc, asparagus, etc.)

Set up 3-4 Tupperware in the the fridge for each day's lunch for the next few days.

Profit + Gainz

I also bring some fresh chopped fruit to snack on... usually pineapple cuz that just happens to be what i like.

I got a desk job and an eating problem. If my stuff aint scheduled out I default to burger + fries

I take whatever is available inside my fridge and if I have enough time to cook something.

I only get 30 minutes, so by the time I go anywhere and come back I have like 8-10 minutes to eat. Sometimes someone else in my dept. will go and I'll give them my money to bring something back. My lead (like a supervisor) is pretty cool tho, sometimes ill clock back in and sit back down to finish my food.

usually head to giant eagle and make a king salad...chicken, egg, a little bacon, peanuts, peas, onions, cheddar and add a greek yogurt with granola

I just started my first 9-5 about 4 months ago and if I step out for lunch everyday, it costs me ~10-12 bucks. (50-60 per week) i want to try to bring my lunch from home at least a few days out of the week to at least cut the cost a little bit.

what do you guys bring for lunch on a daily basis? im incrediibly lazy and dont really cook for myself (though i can) so i dont really have any ideas.
I usually take left overs from dinner the night before, make a sandwich and bring some fruit or chips, or bring a can of soup or something like that. I also came to the realization of how much eating out for lunch can cost over time, 100-240 dollars a month. That is near the same cost of cable or utilities

You gotta change that up man, thats money down the drain right there. The guy I sit next to has NEVER brought food from home, and its not like our cafeteria is cheap, all the meals cost 8-9 dollars.

A while back someone posted an article about how much is spent on average when people buy food at work. It was $3750 or some craziness :x

I've done the math-- its costing me around $3k a year for just lunch alone :smh:

And as I type this, I just finished my lunch from Lenny's

A chicken breast salad for me.

A box of mixed greens from Costco is 3.99, it'll last you a week (5 work days).

Frozen Chicken Breast from Costco is $16, and it'll last you 3 weeks (15 work days)

So you're looking at roughly $10 a week, $2 per meal

my wife buys a precooked rotesserie chicken every sunday (it's a lean protein that you can drop in anything for the 1 yr old who's learning to eat solids)

I'll eat that, plus a bag of steamed broccoli, maybe an apple. That'll last me about 3 days.

I'll eat out the other 2, or do leftovers one of those days.

*edit* for real though, If i was a single dude and wasn't trying to lose weight, i'd eat baja fresh 2-3 times per week. Their receipts have a 2 dollar off coupon, so a chicken burrito plus a side size of chips and cheese comes out to 6.85 (with .05 cents for a plastic bag). That's almost enough food to last 2 meals.

Whatever I ate the night before. Usually season all my meat on Sunday so I just have to throw it on the grill or in the oven when I get home. Saves me time. When we move out of Long Island, probably only bring it three times a week and eat out the other two

I cook for a living but I don't eat off the menu. I don't want to be 400 pounds. I just make peanut butter and banana sandwiches there on wheat. Spinach salads with chicken bressts. Stuff like that. I can't eat too much steaks and pastas or I feel like ***.

I bring leftovers from dinner Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, I'll eat out.

recently iv been making healthy lunches at home..

doing the transformation stunt for spring.

whats easy is lentil soup with shredded chicken,

in one pot make lentil with veggies in it.

in another pot i put a entire chicken in with some veg. broth..

let it cook for a hour untill its while and the meat is coming off/ then transfer the meat onto the lentil soup...

i get like 8 - 9 cups of this...been on if for a week and so far not tired of it.

Hate buying lunch. Used to do it regularly, but it cost too much to do. I only buy lunch when I'm really lazy the night before. It's better to bring lunch in anyway.

if you really want to be cheap and save money just bring a can of soup in and heat it up in the microwave.... my coworker did this everyday :smh:

I pre cook my food. No biggie because I enjoy cooking. Usually keep it simple though. Some sort of poultry or fish and a salad. Switch it up with stir frys or make soft tacos. Add fruit on the side.

about to come to an eend though. Just bought a juicer. Gonna try a fast. At least 2 weeks and go from there.

or bring ramen. I have no problem with either choice. I really don't like eating heavy in the middle of the day. Makes me more tired.

yo lennys is :smokin

pricey AF though

Lenny's ain't worth it to me. Get a better sandwich from the local bodega ya heard.

I usually bring chili, soup or a sandwich from home. Throw in either fruit salad, an apple or orange and a bag of chips.

Take that $40-$50 bucks saved from buying lunch during the week and spend it on whatever during the weekend.

Sandwich, bottle of water, cookies or something, grapes and maybe a couple of hard boiled eggs. Been slackin lately though, eating before I get to the office cause I forget to make lunch smh
