Could we be seeing better quality retro releases in the future?

i dont cop **** from JB besides grails my last pair that i copped were the bred 1's before that the bred 4's i rarely buy shoes basically 1 year apart

You're doing it right.

I'm basically the same. the early 2000s spoiled me compared to the quality out nowadays.

i still ball in my columbia x's from '06 ....are these the same ones?
difference is dude probably kept them ds this whole time and broke them out just for that game.
I'm sure you've worn yours tons of times.
I have a pair of OG he got games that I still break out now and then to play in with no problem.

Those were very different and inexcusable situations that were Nikes fault. Tony Wroten is responsible for wearing shoes that were nearly 10 years old on court but Manu Ginobili and Blake Griffins brand new shoes both tore. There is absolutely no excuse for that.

Thats why Nike needs ditch the ultrathin/hyperfuse/flywire "tech" as well as reconsider their decision to move all of their manufacturing to China. Since the moving 99% of their production to China not only are fakes nearly indistinguishable and at an all time high but the quality of most of their authentic products is suffering immensely.

Even their star athlete Lebron was nearly injured due to the low grade materials being used on his personal shoes.

BRUH...

3 shoes out of the THOUSANDS of kicks the nba goes through in the course of a season?

come on, famb... lets be serious here... it aint as big a deal as you're making it out to be.

if you have an assembly line, i dont care how much quality checks you do... some faulty product is gonna slip through the cracks.

I would be inclined to agree with that if it weren't for the fact I've been watching pro basketball for 20 years and never once have I seen sneakers flat out fail on court like that. Its a pretty big deal considering a faulty sneaker could lead to a serious injury for the athlete wearing the shoe.

I find it particularly ironic that the Hyperfuse motto is "Light as air Strong as steel" From the minute I saw those I thought to myself "There's no way that can hold up like leather". Leather may be old fashioned, but sometimes you just cant beat low tech classics for durability. I'm under the impression that the switch to synthetics and no sew designs has less to do with technology and more to do with reducing production costs, but that's whole other topic.

Additionally, Nike doesn't give top tier athletes regular run of the mill production sneakers to use on court. PE's tend to be made in much smaller batches and held to a higher standard than the mass produced crap we see in stores. If two of Nike's biggest star athletes are having issues with their sneakers, it speaks volumes about the quality control issues with the company as a whole.

To be fair, a lot of people were having issues with JB most recent flagship model - the XX8. Air bags were popping. Sooo?

There was also a dude on the spurs who kept copping an old nb basketball sneaker that had this happen to him on more than one occasion

I'm surprised players have a choice in what they wear on the court. I mean as far as buying their own shoes and wearing them on court. I assumed the team either has an agreement with a sneaker company or they would just buy different kinds of sneakers in bulk for the team.

You talking about Matt Bonner? He actually recently switched to wearing Adidas since he no longer has a deal with NB. I think he was actually given a deal with Adidas too.
