Personal taste. It's so many classics to choose from especially from the 90's that can make the list, so I think it depends on the preference of the listener IMO. Those five albums just come to mind right away to me. But you can go with albums like Scarface (Untouchable), OB4CL, GRODT,The Infamous, and so on. I just think it depends on preference at the end of the day.

I know most always say Midnight Marauders is a classic, but I think Low End Theory is a dope album and better overall. Very underrated.

So we just gonna act like illmatic did not change the landscape of hip hop lyrically and production wise

So we just gonna act like Reasonable doubt was not even a top 5 hip hop album of 1996

So we just gonna act like Outkast and tupac dont exist

Put down the henny and go to sleep. Your opinion is worse than the knicks season and thats hard to do.

Can't really do a top 5 ya know. I like all the albums y'all listed for different reasons

My personal top 5, although it changes every week  I'm 22 so some of these arent gonna be those undisputed classic albums of old

Ice Cube - Amerikkas Most Wanted
Snoop Dogg - DoggyStyle
Dr dre - 2001
The Game - the Documentary
Lil Wayne - Tha Carter

If it were a top ten if include Late Registration and other albums but that's my favorite list as of tonight

Some of you young cats are SHOOK DADDY.

Illmatic is the GOAT. I'll take some Aesop Rock Float and Labor Days, some Deltron 3030, Murs 3:16, Pun Capital Punishment, and 20+ more albums over any Tupac.

@12 Million. Go back to that wild *** thread in General. You don't belong here.

Cant forget about this gem..... This album was ahead of its time. No one ever mentions this album. I still keep this in rotation 20+ years later. Timeless.

Favorite does not mean best...

With that said, any list excluding this album will not be acknowledged.

you're the same dude in the YG thread saying My Krazy Life > GKMC

and that it's only your opinion. so how can you call YOUR list the

undisputed and proceed to discuss it as if these are facts. you are using

terms that are not opinionated. pick a side bro.

Its called hyperbole. We all use it from time to time.

Sounds like crying wolf, not hyperbole.

1. Epmd - strictly business
2. Beastie boys - Pauls boutique
3. Big - ready to die
4. Nas - illmatic
5. Dre - the chronic

Pauls boutique is one of the most underrated hip hop albums ever and strictly business is just timeless - still super dope in 2014, 26 years later.

I'll take some Aesop Rock Float and Labor Days, some Deltron 3030, Murs 3:16

Along those lines you also have el-p - fantastic damage and cannibal ox - the cold vein. They may not be top 5, but they are great albums nonetheless.
