Doggystyle is a dope album, but is an extension of the Chronic IMO. The Chronic was a game changer and brought and new sound (G-Funk) with those 70's samples blended with hard lyrics, thus making it timeless and a classic.Doggystyle blows The Chronic out of the water.
I think the main issue with Life After Death is there is some filler. If that album was consolidated into one disc. It would most likely blow Ready to Die out the water.
Ready to Die is "better" but... Life After Death isnt as dated, sounds better now.
Big's imagery was deeper and the production was smoother.
Same **** ppl say about IWW sounding better than Illmatic if you spin them both today.
Agree with this. Doggystyle has a better and smoother vibe, but I love the raw/grittiness of the The Chronic.

Im kind of surprised that no one here has mentioned a Big L album... In my opinion, he deserves to be in the conversation with all of these other guys mentioned...
I agree he doesnt have a top 5 album. But, for me, the big picture was a classic album. I would much rather listen to that than Reasonable Doubt. He doesn't have a classic album let alone something that could be considered top 5.
