Undisputed Top 5 Rap Albums Of All Time. Vol. deal with it

Doggystyle blows The Chronic out of the water.
Doggystyle is a dope album, but is an extension of the Chronic IMO. The Chronic was a game changer and brought and new sound (G-Funk) with those 70's samples blended with hard lyrics, thus making it timeless and a classic.

Im kind of surprised that no one here has mentioned a Big L album...  In my opinion, he deserves to be in the conversation with all of these other guys mentioned...

Ready to Die is "better" but... Life After Death isnt as dated, sounds better now.

Big's imagery was deeper and the production was smoother.

Same **** ppl say about IWW sounding better than Illmatic if you spin them both today.
I think the main issue with Life After Death is there is some filler.  If that album was consolidated into one disc.  It would most likely blow Ready to Die out the water.

Agree with this. Doggystyle has a better and smoother vibe, but I love the raw/grittiness of the The Chronic.

He doesn't have a classic album let alone something that could be considered top 5.

I agree he doesnt have a top 5 album.  But, for me, the big picture was a classic album.  I would much rather listen to that than Reasonable Doubt.

Illmatic
Ready to die
36 chambers
Reasonable doubt
The chronic
Top 4 is solid for me that fifth spot could go so many ways

I can't believe yeezus hasn't been mentioned yet...definitely in my top 5...&$@% it's in my top 3.

College Dropout

Illmatic
Soul Survivor
Midnight Marauders

Wow some of you guys haven't been listening to hip-hop for very long. Yeezus??? To each their own but DAMN!!!

In no order:

Midnight Marauders

Death Certificate

(Damn this is hard)

Southernplayalistic........

OB4CL

Doggystyle

I'm sure i'm missing a bunch but there's no list i'd make that didn't include the first 2.

Trying to do this made me realize how many people i consider the best rappers haven't made a top 5 album

I was never a big fan of Pac. Or KRS-ONE.

I'm not even sure i classify Yeezus as rap/hip-hop.
