The Timepiece Thread vol: READ THE 1st POST!!!

any lefties on here? Is it just me that wears my watches on the right side since it gets in the way since I'm left handed?

I'm a righty and wear it on my left ...

I'm asking because if I wear it on my dominant hand it feels weird for me. That's why it feels better on my right hand.

This actually came up at work a few weeks ago. I am a lefty and I wear my watch on the left arm still. I tried putting it on the right arm for the rest of the day, but it just didn't feel right. Every once in a a while it does get in the way when I am working on a system and I just take it off, but most of the time, I leave it on. Never bothers me writing or anything.

I tried it on my left arm and it was bothersome to me at least. I have my wallet set up on my left back pocket, my cell in my front left pocket and it usually gets in the way of that. Only time it bothers me on my right wrist is when I'm using the mouse.

Write with the left, phone front left, wallet, back right
Standard procedure here.

Most people are taught to not wear their watch on their dominant hand.
What is this taught to wear a watch that you speak of?

Granted in my family, I only had an aunt that was a lefty and everyone else was right-handed. Probably where some of my tendencies come from. I remember she had to show me how to tie my shoe when I was little because my family couldn't get that they had to show me in reverse

I swing a bat and golf clubs right-handed, but I throw with the left and use a glove for the right hand too

Me and the wife are both lefties....10% of the world

Example: When I speak "taught to" I remember when I went to school when I was young, I was literally taught to wear my watch on the non-dominant hand so I could check the time while still writing. It came in hand during examination periods.

I know, I was just joking about the being taught thing....but....nobody ever told me that I should put it on my non-dominant hand. Never really bothered until someone pointed it out to me either. I hate how that happens, lol

Beautiful watch.

I was pretty set on getting a Hamilton Field Khaki as my next watch, but I'm leaning more toward's a Pilot's watch now. I thought about going with Orient because it's inexpensive and I like the look enough, but I'm pretty sure it'll either be a Laco or a Steinhart. I still do want the Hamilton, but I'm really interested in a B-Uhr style/design.

I prefer the Steinhart, but I haven't decided.

Go with the Steinhart. I've always like the pilot watches also, but went with the Hamilton Khaki this time around.

My next watch will be the Steinhart Nav B, which nikehead nikehead help me decide

^I have them both (although I have the vintage Titanium A dial) , I love them both, but would give a slight edge to the Nav-B Uhr, its just something about that watch that i really like, the simplicity, the versatility, the all around look and feel is excellent imo

Plus Im not that big on metal bracelets, but I'll rock it occasionally

Ticino Pilot watch for under $200 with the Miyota 9015 movement. Impossible to beat at that price point. Stowa/Laco/Archimede for Pilot watches under $1k, not a fan of Steinhart though.

Xmas gift finally came in. Bae got me the Steinhart
Ocean Black. Told her to get it with the ceramic bezel
but they sent her an email saying they dont fit anymore
And that it needs to be ordered separately, but Im not
sure if they fitted it anyway. As I cant really tell by looking.

nice pick up on the DLC, love mine

looks as if you have the standard aluminum bezel, you need to order the ceramic one from the accessories sections on the website, and then have a local watch maker install it for you or try and do it yourself

Yea, after looking around I noticed the pip at the
Top of the dial on the ceramic bezel isnt as pronounced
As the pip on the standard aluminum. I'm gonna wait
A bit to see how it holds up before I order it, as it doesnt
Look bad as is.

Do u think it is rude to exchange an engagement present from the parents of the bride? my friends sisters fiance got a yachtmaster 2 from her parents and is going to exchange it for a more expensive model, i dont like it and neither does her parents...what do you think ?
