Look for a Joma coupon too to save 10% or 15%, there's usually one floating around.

Joma is considered grey market but all the watches are authentic based on the reviews I've read. Guess I'll be returning the watch I have now and buy from them to save $400 :\

Will do bro, the dilemma I am having is in the 3k range of budget, I feel the Breitling gives me more for my money than lets say a 1978 date just, I'd appreciate any feedback, suggestions etc.

As someone mentioned above I wanted to get my self a 30th bday present, but with getting married and just buying a home this year, I can't jump out the window the way I wanted. :rolleyes

sneakerpimp2k8 sneakerpimp2k8 If you are looking for Breitling, check out the Transocean or Superocean heritage models. Also check out TAG Carrera models.

A good way to get a tag on discount is actually at macys. They occasionally put them on sale and you can get an additional 20% off if you open a new card.

Tag also has a friend/family sale at least a couple of times a year.

I've posted the info here, I'll continue to do so. They're essentially salesman models, lightly used etc. Models range but generally a Carerra and Grand Carrera are on it.

Two of them things?! :x (in the best way possible -- truly an inspiration)

A little off topic but

Thanks all. Dealer just contacted me about a Daytona might be coming in too. Very tempting before the price increase happens in a few weeks and if I get it that is the Rolex trifecta for me and there really isn't anything else I'd want. :smh: It's how they get you. :wow:

I just couldn't do the cyclops on the Rolex, I know plenty loves it. Just personal preference I guess. I checked out the GMT-II Master because it is a beauty but I just couldn't get with the cyclops, I feel the same with the Datejust. The Deepsea is cool with the date and no cyclops and the shoulders are a bit narrower so it works better for my wrist but it was just a bit too thick for my liking. Had it been as thin as a Sub, I might have gone with the Deepsea.

As someone mentioned before, Omega PO is a good option. If you can spare another $500 though, I'd opt for a Speedmaster Pro, retails $4500 but I am sure you can talk it down to around $3500.

Definitely try and get something you really want, grail if possible especially if you'll just get one. So that there are no what-ifs or could have/should haves later on.

Many watches in the Rolex line-up are very versatile, I mean even the Sub, as sporty as it is it really does work on almost any occasion. I've even seen it worn with a tux and work.

 Daytonas isn't for sure but seriously some dealers have a couple of years waiting list and I think I have seen one on display once, ever and haven't seen it in stock again.

I guess in good faith, this dealer would offer to sell me one that they get in if I do it on the spot, I believe some people do flake out once the watch is there ready to be picked up and paid for and it eventually sells to the next buyers on the long list however if they can sell it the day it arrives then they would take it.

i dig bro. If in that 3k range Tags are nice also Baume & Mercier make nice watches in that range, namely the capeland (which I plan on running down on). But def shop around. With a budget like that your surely be able to get something ill and to your liking

Thanks fellas, I appreciate the feedback. I'm not really feeling too many of my options in this price range, thinking of adding a few thousand and going for a watch I will be happy with for some time to come.

I was looking at the date just and also some subs, I need to go and try them on and take it from there. Anyone recommend any shops in NYC? :nerd:

If you could wait, definitely do that. Don't rush and get something just to have something.

Here's the ADs in NYC. I'm sure there are more non-ADs.

One thing I've noticed, is that nobody mentions servicing for the watches. I've gotten my sub serviced twice, cost 400 bucks each time. They usually lube, change o rings etc. And polish, last time, I needed a new rotor weight thing. It's important for these watches though.

It's posted on the first post, JYabbz has done a great job consolidating plenty of information in that very first post.

I don't think he mentioned the price, probably because it varies by brand, but he mentioned all the maintenance needed for each movements.

Price-wise, Rolex tends to be in $400-$500 range which is high but after a service, they give you a new 2 year warranty so it's a good service. IWC does the same iirc, I am not sure about the others. Plus it's usually 4-5 years or when you see something unusual with the watches performance, which ever comes first. Chances are if something is wrong within the warranty, it's covered anyways and it'll get fixed for free.
