IMO It was written is Nas best album and one of the greatest albums of all time. Till this day i only listen to like 3-4 songs on RD.

Thoughts?

The Message > Can't Knock The Hustle

Street Dreams < Politics as Usual

I Gave You Power = Brooklyn's Finest

Watch Them *****s < Dead Presidents II

Take It In Blood > Feelin' It

Nas Is Coming < D'Evils

Affirmative Action > 22 Two's

The Set Up = Can I Live

Black Girl Lost > Ain't No *****

Suspect < Friend or Foe

Shootouts > Coming of Age

Live ***** Rap > Cashmere Thoughts

If I Ruled The World < Bring It On

< Regrets

I have it even across the board. I guess if I would have included IWW's intro then this list would be more definitive.

I think I give IWW the slight nod because it's pretty much consistent the whole way through and more entertaining to listen to. RD has better standouts though IMO and the production is better for the most part.

Bless your heart.

They are on the same level, just comes down to personal preference. I rather listen to IWW then RD though.

carltonjunior carltonjunior Add Silent Murder to your listen, great song but unfortunately only on the cassette version

No Reasonalble Doubt is a classic and IWW is not.

I am a huge Nas fan and Illmatic is my favorite rap album of all time but IWW (which is a good album not great) has to be one of the most overrated rap albums discussed on NT. Its ridiculous to me that people even argue that it is better than Illmatic.

I wish I could agree because there is nothing that I hate more than Jay stans, but this is fiction.

LOL IWW is better than Illmatic.

It's not better than Illmatic. Nothing on IWW is surpassing even one track on that entire album. Except maybe Represent, I always thought that was the most average track on it.

This Jay-Z and Nas stuff doesn't get old for some of you, huh
Next: Kingdom Come vs Nastradamus

         Streets Disciple vs BP2

LOL IWW is better than Illmatic.

Please explain how its better than Illmatic?

Lyrically? Not better Musically? No Organization of tracks? No

If you want to give IWW an edge in production I can see that but sorry IWW isn't messing with the greatness that is Illmatic at all. Only on NT have I see this album held in such high regard.

IWW has some great songs but it is not a great album. Very good but not great or classics....its has some definite missteps/automatic skippers such as Nas Is Coming (awful hook and one of Nas' worst tracks), The Setup and Shootouts. None of those tracks do it for me at all.

Illmatic to this day I can still play all the way through and it is a superior lyrical album. Like I said IWW is very good and deserving of 4.25/5 rating but classic it is not.
