Again, exactly why I suspect you and the op to be white supremacist

Supremacists for holding black people to the same standards as we do whites when it comes to race relations? lol I cant with some of you

Everyone hates Nick cannon. Lol

I personally don't dislike the guy.

I think he's a smart guy that has been able to navigate the entertainment industry...

Got a rich fine wife and seems like a fun dude.

Why all the hate?

Oh... And eventually... Arguing with the same 4 people about race relations gets old mayne.

Requires a ton of energy. Smh

White people love him. How do I know that's true? He wouldn't be where he is if they didn't. That's his niche

This isn't even about "hate", that's too strong a word. I'm just saying who finds him entertaining?

He's not a good actor, he's an even worse comedian. Every time he hosts something I cringe at how corny he is.

I guess he is smart for finding his niche, I'm just tryna figure out what that niche is?
I and everyone I know just find him to be corny. I don't hate dude though. He seems to be a good guy and he's actually made me chuckle before.

Nick Cannon. This dude is wild. No offense taken here. He's just messing around trying to be funny (although he's just not funny). No ill intent on his end. Just playing on dumb/funny stereotypes.

I really like this.

I want Nick to get really angry and start talking about how White people are just waaaayyy too sensitive about race. I mean, it's a joke after all. Get over it!

He should make a statement like "I'm sorry that some weak minded, sensitive people were offended by my hilarious and innocent joke. Some people can't take humor, I guess. I'm just exercising my 1st Amendment right as a proud American. Unfortunately there are people out there who just get offended at ANYTHING and are always looking for things to complain about and call racist."

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm....:nerd:

Let's get to chopping this fable.

1) Just because you believe something isn't, harmful doesn't mean it isn't. Even "positive" stereotypes can be used to cause someone harm. Whether intentional or not.

2) It's good that you have a policy of not explaining racism to non-blacks. I wouldn't want someone who can't even comprehend that people of all races can experience racism explaining that **** to me.

3)Black face has a well established history of being offensive. You're right about that. But caricatures are by nature offensive, no matter who the target is. Just look at how easily I can apply some of your points on black face to white face:

White face:
-Used as a “Set up” to the joke

-Used to belittle and make fun of those that are white

-Originally done by black people for black people

-A degrading visual joke (Ha! Ha! Look at me, I’m one of THEM! I listen to rock music, can't dance and enjoy the taste of dog spit!)

-Makes white people into caricatures (not human, a symbol to belittle)

-A sign of racism

4a) "-If a white person’s feelings were hurt by white face, they wake up the next day and no one will judge THEM by what they saw. Black people were (and still are) BELIEVED to be these caricatures."
Let's say no one does judge them by what they saw; does that mean that the fact that their feelings were hurt is now irrelevant? Also, you and I both know a multitude of people that will attest that white people act exactly as characterized in movies like white girls. People believe those caricatures as well because if they weren't believable they wouldn't be good caricatures.

4b) "white ppl don't even believe this is racist or offensive, dude, never have."
You're not white. How do you know? Even if you were you can't speak for every white person.

4c) "whites just look for any little thing a Black person does to hang their hats on."
This right here is just blatant racism. If this sentence was reversed :smh: Oh wait I forget, there's no such thing as racism against whites. Nevermind.

4d) "no white person will be harmed by Nick's spoof. come on, sons  "
See 4b

In conclusion, what you're arguing is, that when an action is done to one race, it is racism, but when done to another, it's not. That is just idiotic. You're a racist and you don't eem know it, which explains why you have such a skewed view on what does and does not qualify as racism.

@LIONBLOOD
I softened him up. You wanna come and handle the rest of this light work?

lol you're a better man than me for even entertaining his nonsense enough to post this many points. I just kept it simple so he stops spinning this into a debate about who has it worse which is not my intent.   The irony of dude using the same excuses and tactics many white people use to degrade blacks. A lack of understanding leads to all those racist caricature frat parties. Many white people don't think blacks are harmed by stereotypes. Like you put it nicely, he is really in no position to tell another person of a different culture, race etc whether or not they are offended.

I agree that the whiteface and hashtags are stereotyping no doubt (making it wrong/cheap) but not on the same degree. The hashtags to me symbolize fratboyish, hipster, "save the whales/trees" stereotypes. White chicks to me was a "valley girl" caricature.

A. These are umbrella stereotypes that can apply to any race. In fact more of a generational thing.
B. Not saying ,"you should be happy these are the the only probems you have". Nope, preconceived notions are a *****, but these don't stick and don't define all white people.

Whereas

Black people stereotypes---> Criminals, thugs, aren't intellectual
Asians--> Super smart the underlying being that their mad frail, shy, socially awkward
Latinos- Criminals, drunkards, lazy

The white stereotype that does persist (wrongly) is that they are all unathletic and the few that do make it is because of "scrappiness, smarts, etc"
