No my point has nothing to do with it just being Gerard Butler... It had to do with what i Stated "The film is named Gods Of Egypt, and there is ONE SINGULAR person who isn't of European descent casted for the film"
So NO it can't be pinpoint accurate if 95% of the movie is european... it isn't accurate And it's not going to be accurate. And if it follows hollywood's current structure there will be tons of black people in the film..... doing slavework
But nah the difference between owning and creating one of the best civilizations known to man isn't to far from that image of slavery.

No one is going anywhere to learn about history these days, thats the point. It'd be different if every public school in america had comprehensive coverage of the egyptian empire and all the little school kids already knew the facts behind this historical society. They don't, and they likely will have little exposure, certainly not as entertaining or attention getting exposure, to the real history and contributions of Africans in our society as they will through movies and entertainment. This movie was an opportunity to paint black Africans in a very positive light on a grand scale and highlight the contributions egyptians have made to society. Yet they choose mostly white actors to portray this greatness.
I can't help but thinking, and maybe this is a reach, but if there were more depictions of black people in a positive light, not just this particular movie. But across all movies and entertainment. Maybe you wouldn't have white girls on college campuses referring to black people as monkeys or have anxiety stricken hispanics patrolling their neighborhoods with blood in their eye at the first sight of dark skin.
yeah because people are really going to see this for history and not blockbuster action
Every movie teaches you something, whether you realize it or not. Whether it was your intention to learn something at the theater or not is irrelevant. As if these couch potatoes are gonna spend a second otherwise researching advanced African civilizations.

Eh, this is pretty corny on his part. I don't think there should be a double standard for stunts like this, people were getting crucified on twitter for using facepaint for their Holloween costumes. Stunts like this tends to justify why a white person might feel ok with doing the opposite.

Isn't that the problem though? Why not have egyptian decendants actually play these roles though? I looked up the cast, one is from denmark, one is from australia, one is from scotland and one is black.
