Johnandrew00 Restorations & Sole Swaps

Hey brother, you're doing some great work here.

Just wondering if you have any experience with cracked patent leather. My Black/Red XIs from '96 have some hairline cracks at the toebox. Is there any kind of filler, cream or lotion that can be used on them.

Let me know your thoughts if you can spare a moment. Many thanks.

There is a fix for that but I don't know it. I've seen other restorers fix that issue

Another pair of mine that I have finished:

1999 Air Jordan Columbia Blue IV Sole Swap: I deep cleaned the upper leather, deoxidized the rubber sole, whitened the laces, reconditioned and softened the leather, tinted the air unit light blue, and midsole swapped the soles.

Great work on those IV's, need some midsoles repainted on some 95's but everyone is overbooked...lol

@az5950  Yeah sorry man haha.

@kennmo08  I mixed white, sapphire and navy blue to get my own mix. It's lighter than the original paint because I want it to stand out more.

@Turtle Feathers  Thanks! I've actually began buying a lot of my supplies from turtlefeathers since I have started restoring, but since my team is sponsored by Angelus Direct, I receive a discount from their prices already. What did you have in mind about midsole swaps?

@Turtle Feathers  To be honest, you don't need to restitch the toecap as long as the re-glue is has been done properly. The Jordan 6, 7, 8, 9 and up don't have a stitched toebox. I feel it's only for cosmetics. I don't even restitch my own pairs cause I know my reglue job will hold the toebox no problem.

I only restitch upon my clients request for an additional fee. I've actually tried that type of thread from my local shoe repair shop and it holds strong and it works great!  Much better than embroidery floss.

DO you think you could work with a pair of  the 1989 Air Pressure? I just ran across them along with OG AJ IV Blk/Cement and Wht/Red/Blk as well as 1990 Air Flight Low. I know you can do the latter finds.

Will do when I make the trip back to DC. I left them not knowing you were an option.

i was wondering when u repaint the OG or 99 retro cement 4, what paints do u mix to get the right grey? i know the collector edition paint on angelusdirect.com is for the 2012 pair. Thanks!

@DocHS   Good looks!

@bakerbakes9   Hello brother, Sorry but I can not give out that information. It took me a really, really long time to acquire those colors. Best of luck to you. The most I can say is to add  yellow or red to change the hue of the shade of grey.

Can my local shoe repair do a sole reattachment? My LeBron IIs are starting to separate. I would ship to you guys but y'all are overbooked plus the turnaround time.

@Rell826  Youll need to discuss that with him. I dont know if he can do it properly or not. My local shoe repairman can't and ****** up my pair. That's why I made a change to do it myself

Have you done any foamposite restorations ? And what can I use to prep my foams for paint ?

Air Yeezy II Full Restoration:

I think the term " Wear your kicks " was used in a broader spectrum. Nevertheless, here's another restore from yours local neighborhood restorer.

A full midsole repaint, sole clear, deep clean, and a little prayer was performed. I don't know if it's noticeable but the suede was torn. I was able to salvage what was left and patch it up the best I could.
