Best pop star the last 20 years: JT or Usher??

Who is our generations Michael??  With Chris Brown starting at 14/15, I thought he really had a chance to shoot for the stars.  Choosing the Bobby Brown route instead, his bad boy route really caught up to him!  Even though he's still putting out hits, the "bad boy" persona doesn't make him marketable to be a household name that's going to carry over 5-10 years at a time.

Who do you take??  I'd think all 3 of Justin's albums have been classics.  His singles have been anthems, but can you hold 3 albums in 10 years against him?  He's shooting 100%, but with only 3 attempts, could he use a bigger catalog (ex:  Biggie 2 for 2).  Does N Sync come with an asterisk?

On the other hand, Usher has plenty of hits spanning decades!  His catalog is much more extensive, but that comes with some weaker material, especially with a lot of filler the last couple albums, and the change to more of an electro approach on some of his singles.

Who do you take?  Thoughts?  Did I leave anyone out?  Potential for Bruno Mars??

Both are great artist and their is no denying that. But I have to give the slight edge to usher. 8701 and confessions > any of the 3 jt albums.

JT, Usher damaged his catalog with all of the music he's making now. You can tell when it's authentic, Ushers just looking for hit records...JT's music has had the same identity since he first came out...He really cares about putting out good product, my assumption as to why he drops an album very rarely.

Technically JT has 4 albums in a 10 year span, 20/20 is considered two albums.

Man if Usher woulda stayed on the 8701/Confessions path he would be one of the GOATS. His songs were in radio rotations for years. So many hits
