Please recommend decent laptops for browsing web and doing minor MS Office work.

Hey fellas,

Please recommend laptops that are decent for browsing the web...will be using for viewing social media sites like YouTube, Facebook, etc. and light work on MS Office, usually just writing Word documents.

I would also want something that is not too thick in size, and have a CD-rom drive.

It's for a family member, and I don't think I need to buy a new Mac-book since it won't be used to its potential.

Obviously cheaper is better, but no tentative price is set.

Good post, bro. I have a PC at home and don't have a smartphone and been wondering what else I can buy for just web browsing on the go.

Would I be better off with a tablet or one of the devices posted if I am only going to do a little typing? i.e. message boards, email.
 
I was about to say, if that's all you're doing the cheapest laptop with at least 4gb RAM would serve your purpose.
