Would you rather be homeless or in jail?

Lot of variables.

We talking about county jail or prison? Where would I be homeless?

Like I rather be in county jail than be homeless in a Chicago winter  But I much rather be homeless in a DC spring/summer than be in jail

Where did the concept that everyone in jail does homosexual activity?
Well it's not a concept and not everybody does it but documentaries and 1st hand sources confirm it does go down. There was a NTer who had a thread where he answered questions about spending a stint in prison completely gloss over that he was smashing his 1st cellmate and let him smash, cuz it's just a thing to do in prison like it was nothing. Same thing for that bbformums thread about the dude who got out of prison and his long story about how it was like.

Always wondered this. I'm thinking TV/movies + overactive imaginations and overall intense fear of being pounded out by a group of swole convicts in the shower.
I can see the tears running down your eyes if you actually went to a real prison thinking it was all tv and ppl being scared of the possibility only to find out the harsh raw truth.

However I will say there'd be more abuse than you worrying about being raped.

It's dependent on a few factors. Of course it's a reality but the prevalence is GREATLY exaggerated. There's far more consensual intercourse than rape. (edit: from what I've read in personal experience threads as well as other write ups, it does seem that a lot of the consensual sex does start with rape and later a bond is developed)

But I agree, you're far more likely to catch an *** whooping than an *** ramming.

I think y'all are confusing jail and prison.

Way more gay activity going on in prison than in jail.
That's what I brought up in my first post. There not really comparable if you're comparing being homeless to regular jail. Not even many jails that sentence you to more than a few months unless we're talking about local country jails. There's no widespread rape in regular jail but way more violence.

I basically had it in mind that you're at least being homeless for a year so you're gonna experience all 4 seasons and then weigh that against being imprisoned for a year.

Even then with me living in NYC last thing I'd want is to be up in Ryker's for a year when I can be squatting in the city and various other boroughs.

The correct answer is homeless. You have a better chance of improving your situation if homeless than jail. Also I will not be peppering my angus. Also freedom>being confined

Yeah gimme da cardboard box. If I can get 200 a month begging I can turn that around in 3 months tops. Thats only like $7 a day and thanks to hipsters you only need a $2 brush or comb to rock the beard and still get hired.
If I end up in jail let me earn my way into it trying to come up off the streets.... Not about to freely walk in.

The way yall talk about surviving being homeless makes me wonder why so many people are still homeless, yall got the wrong perception of that life.

Srs freedom is underrated. You dont appreciate it till its taken away from you.
I cant be living in a 5 x 5 space with 1 hour daily of outside time. And the perpetual chance of getting beaten or raped on a daily basis.......
Nah.....

There are homeless ppl who fall on hard times and it's a struggle and then there's homeless ppl who don't give a **** and gave up. Being homeless isn't even the biggest detriment to getting a better life. Most ppl who are homeless have a whole lot of other issues other than being homeless hence why they stay that way.

Most ppl posting in this thread range from 16-33. It's easier to bounce back from being homeless if you're at least street smart. Keep in mind this hypothetical isn't jail or you have to live the life of that homeless dude you see everyday rummaging through the dumpster that lives in the alley downtown.
