You can actually catch them all!

Yup, Google is back to its April 1st tricks, and they're going all-out this year. The video sets up an augmented reality game that lets you go out into the world and catch "real" Pokémon through you phone's camera. That's the April Fool's joke. But since this is Google, it doesn't just end with the video - as of right now, Google Maps on Android and iOS is actually populated with Pokémon creatures all over the world. Zoom in to major cities and you'll see Nintendo's little critters hanging out on the standard map view (you have to zoom in really far).

Man i thought this was connected to my pokemon game on my iphone haha. Was so hyped thought i could use the ones i caught on google maps on the game

Is the camera thing real? lol I'm just going around the maps thing and tapping on them to catch them, but that camera thing in the video is :smokin

I have around 40

Try monuments.

I found 5 around area 51

Theres 1 in the bellagio fountain in las Vegas

One in liberty island, one near the stock exchange.

Snorlax is at the Vatican :lol:
One in downtown los Angeles
There is a bunch in san Francisco including union square and golden gate bridge

One on mount Everest.
