IS VOL. 2 A CLASSIC ALBUM?

Like the majority of responses on here, album is whatever. It's the worst out of the Vol. trilogy. Can listen to only a couple songs. 5/10 album.
That's like saying one kid got a 98 on his final and the other two kids hit 99s. I don't even know if I can even agree with this statement to begin with.

What beats on here sound dated to you guys?

decent but no.

only vol that was close to classic status was 1.

Definitely a classic.  I'm in agreeance with @Peep Game in that it's a commercial classic.  This album was everywhere, and had smash hits and singles.  It brought Jay to the forefront of the game.  Also, he said exactly what he would do on it........"So I stretched the game out, etched your name out....put J**** on top and drop albums nonstop for ya *****"......

Album is def a classic. A week ago, the intro, coming of age 2, kid Capri nd jay z, all the classic singles. Yup. Good memories.

The best thing about this album is its verstatility. The songs that were my favourites when I was little are not the same ones that I like now that I'm much older. When I was 9, basically all the singles were my favouirtes, but now its songs like A Week Ago and Ride or Die. J**** What J**** Who is one of the best live Jay songs too, when he hits that last verse and then transitions smoothy into something else like You Dont Know man.......

^Thats sort of how I feel (except with Coming of Age, that song sounds as good today as back then). I wasn't listening to A Week Ago and Reservoir Dogs nearly as much back then compared to as the years went by

Older heads might appreciate more. That album was bumpin all over the city when it dropped. I think that GRODT was a good comparison

Easily one of his better albums. I would rank it at #2 or #3 in his catalogue. I remember buying it when it came out, MAAAAD spins. Played that more than any other Jay album besides The Blueprint.

it's like that = one of his most underrated songs

Agreed with this, one of my favorites.

Even though I say it sounds dated, it's still my 4th favorite Jay album. People mustve heard a different Vol. 1 & 3.

Vol. 1 has classic songs on it but it having The City Is Mine and I Know What Girls Like just ******* kill it from being any type of "great/classic" album.

I really only remember liking So Ghetto from Vol. 3. Very forgettable IMO.

one of my least favorite albums from him. not very cohesive to me...tho i like all the songs

Absolutely not. And FTR Vol. 1 > Vol. 2 off the strength of Intro / A Million And One Questions alone.

BP > RD > V1 >   .

Edit -  Although lots of people dig them, I really can't get down with Black Album or American Gangster at all.

dont forget N.Y.M.P.

It's a real good album not a classic to me. I'm probably one of the few that thinks Vol. 3 is better.
