I'll be staying near the Silver Lake area and I was wondering what's good.  We do have a car so distance isn't a problem.  Please recommend some places to eat, shop and general things to do.  I am a shoe guy looking for mainly air maxes (1's, 90's, etc.), any hidden gems to check out?  Besides the regulars (RIF, FlightClub, etc.) of course.

Thanks

Drip in Hollywood has some older air maxes.

I always liked Kicks Sole Provider on Larchmont.

Undefeated on La Brea is good, too.  Lot's of great shopping spots on La Brea (Stussy, American Rag).

Same with Fairfax where FC is.

For eating, If you like Prime Rib, I always suggest going to Lawry's if you have never been.  Fun experience.

PM me if you want to ask any specific questions.

Thanks man!

Also i would check out slaughson swapmeet and the del amo indoor mall (not to be confused with the del amo fashion center)

both are in not-the-best neighborhoods so just go in there and mind your buiness but they always have shoes that have released years ago, for retail. just walk around and check out the little shoe shops.

since youre close to santa monica, you should go to the pier, i love that place and there is alsoo an umami burger there. if youre down to hit up a secret sushi gem, check out nabeeya on 8th and santee in the fashion district. but make sure you call your order in as there are only 8 places to sit, literally.

Also dont now when your coming, but try to stay off freeway/streets M-F 7am-8:30am and 3:30pm-6pm , Weekends 11am is probably the worst time to be on the freeway . trust me about the traffic, people think im exaggerating until they come down here and get stuck taking 2 hours to drive 30 miles.
