Loved southland, hate that it got cancelled. She was great in that ABC show "American Crime"

After last season’s elaborate Memorial Day initiative by the Guilty Remnant plunged Mapleton into chaos, season two of The Leftovers finds many searching for a fresh start. Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux) has retired from his post as chief of police of Mapleton and is moving his new family to Texas. With him is Nora Durst (Carrie ****), who’s discovered new purpose in caring for the baby she found on Kevin’s doorstep and welcomes leaving behind Mapleton and the incredible tragedy she suffered there. Equally eager to leave the town she grew up in and the friends she made there is Kevin’s daughter, Jill (Margaret Qualley).

Upon their arrival in Jarden, Texas, the newly formed Garvey family meet their neighbors, the Murphys: John (Kevin Carroll) and Erika (Regina King) and their teenage twins, Evie (Jasmin Savoy Brown) and Michael (Jovan Adepo). Attracted to this special town and hoping for miracles for his whole family, Matt Jamison (Christopher Eccleston) has moved with his wife, Mary (Janel Moloney), who still suffers from consequences of the terrible car accident on October 14.

Meanwhile, Kevin’s ex-wife, Laurie Garvey (Amy Brenneman), has left the Guilty Remnant and reunited with her son, Tom (Chris Zylka), who may have finally discovered a cause to help replace the pain in his heart. And while Meg (Liv Tyler) remains in the Guilty Remnant, it may not be the same cult she originally joined.

Leftovers Boss on "Patti" Return: 'She's a Huge Problem'

The Leftovers is not only resurrecting Ann Dowd’s very-much-dead Patti in Season 2, the HBO drama is bringing the pot-stirrer back as a full-fledged series regular. And she’ll once again be up to no good.

“Suffice to say, she’s a huge problem that needs to be solved,” teased exec producer Damon Lindelof at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills. Regarding what form Patti will take, Lindelof ruled out one prevailing theory. “We don’t want to use her as a Shakespearean ghost, which is to say she’s someone there just to comment on the action. She’s in the show, but we don’t really want to talk too specifically about how she manifests.”

The trailer screened for critics took great pains not to spoil the aforementioned new mystery, although Lindelof hinted that it involves the question, “‘What would happen there if there was a departure [in Jarden]?’ In this world, there’s [another] possibility [if someone disappears], and this season is really interested in exploring that.”

Another big change in Season 2: “The Guilty Remnant isn’t happening in Jarden,” confirmed fellow EP Tom Perrotta. “But [Jarden] has its own peculiarities that relate to it needing to protect its special identity. The Guilty Remnant do appear at various times and have a residual power. We’re looking at a different form of expression, in the wake of The Departure, in this place.”

yeah, that's disappointing if true.

I really don't want to watch s2 but more than likely will just because there will be nothing else on sunday nights. Smh
 
yeah it's most likely the priest is not returning.

These are the confirmed S1 returners:

Leads Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Chris Zylka, Margaret Qualley, Christopher Eccleston and Carrie **** are expected to return. Everyone else will be dropped.

Eccleston is the priest - looks like he is returning.

I have Fear the Walking Dead at the end of August on Sundays followed by Leftovers in October. Not bad

I'm happy as long as the bae Nora is returning to bless us with nude scenes. Is the policeman's daughter returning? She looked good too.

Every time we see Patti is going to be the smoke monster

He's at the start with Jill at the Diner

They show him with his mom @ 1:10..looks like he ends up going with her instead of his dad, Jill and Nora

and I think that's him at 1:31 dressed in all white with the cigs joining the GR
