Episode 2 synopsis revealed:

Episode 2, "A Matter of Geography," will bring the focus back to Kevin and his family.

According to the synopsis, episode 2 will reveal how Kevin and the group made the decision to leave Mapleton. The installment will feature flashbacks of the weeks leading up to the events in the premiere. Back in New York, Nora will receive a strange offer for her house from some mysterious buyers with a morbid curiosity in her home thanks to its recent traumatic history. However, the money will be tempting as she and Kevin debate a cross-country move.

Once Kevin does get to Miracle, he will become entangled in the Murphy family’s problems. John woke up after an earthquake-like event in the premiere to find his daughter Evie missing. It seems Kevin, who has a fair share of experience with unexplained disappearances, will try to help. However, that could prove to be dangerous, as the promo for the episode teases some serious drama. In one scene, Kevin is pulled over by a police officer and forced to make a suspicious admission – “I have a body in the back of my truck.”

Epi. 2 Promo:

Like everyone else has said this episode was wierd but what else is new

I'm along for the ride again

In season 1, they were just showing you **** out of left field. No context at all.

Now they're showing you weird ****, but there's more context. Like we know the Murphy family has some secrets, and the town is special. So when they flash to some naked girls running in the woods, it's weird, but we aren't as confused.

Great premiere.

The Murphy dad reminds me of Mateen Cleaves though

The naked girls running in the woods was Evie and her friend. Not just random women.

I assume as shown she did that after singing in choir practice before playing catch with her dad.

I feel the only reason this ep seemed to have more context is because of all the random **** they established in S1. We know in this world a lot of weird groups are rising up in response to the disappearances and there seems to be a good deal of magical negroes that'll somehow be involved with somebody in the main cast.

From a practical point of view you could explain away the bird being seen before something bad happens and the earthquakes (who is to say it was the same bird? One could've been an eagle, the other could've been a falcon) but it's more than clear the writer's are trying to tell you that it's an omen and the town is special in the context that nobody disappeared on the day of the disappearances which isn't necessarily that special. I'm sure if we had the #s on average you probably could've figure out that there are a few more places around the world that didn't have any disappearances but the show isn't going to reveal that yet.

Already like this season more than last, too bad the daughter is gone, seemed like one of the more interesting characters.

The dad is bad news.

The daughter isnt gone, shes involved in something .. im standing by that until we see or are told different in future episodes

I was lookin up the cast on IMBD or w/e and that nasty as patti is involved in a total of 20 episodes :x

Not saying the daughter disappeared for sure or not but then what happened with all the water in the lake?

The water disappeared in that hole that was in the center im assuming. But for those girls i just think theyre up to something.

Her curfew was 11, the earthquake was 3am .. night swim ok sure but swimming at 3 in the morning, i dont think so.

But at the same time idk because wasnt the car still on? At least the lights were on and the music was bumping. Maybe all that was staged

The one chick looked like Aimee when they were running thru the woods.

Jill Garvey is down to swirl though

this effin show is just weird for the sake of it

so much dumb unexplained ish

the guy in the miracle tower

the guy who cut that goats throat in the middle of the diner

the girls running naked in the woods

regina king burying a bird in box

the girl watering the lawn in a ****** wedding dress

that wack *** fake hymn her choir group was singing

john's beef with eddie winslow was so stupid

and regina king not caring that her husband out here burning down houses

the mystery ****** apple pie

just terrible, i might have to drop this bs show

edit: and that wack as **** intro goodness gracious this whole ish was terrible
Yeah all these literally had no explanation or reason, so random

Daughter's friends show up in their white Benz in episode 2's trailer so where's the daughter?

The goat slaughter, the fireman being able to arson, police brutality on visitors, the apple pie, the wedding dress. So weird

From episode 2's trailer, it almost seems like they're gonna take us back in time to see how Kevin got that cut on his head

The water sank into the earth when the quake cracked it. The girls are somewhere else though, not in the cracks or taken

This dude Eddie Winslow moved from Chicago to Texas to be a con man and he still taking Ls  :smh:

I expect them to clash right after John has problems with the pastor.

Eddie Winslowfrom Chicago? I assume youre just talking about from family matters.. in the episode he states to Regina King that hes from Jarden and has a right to live there. John also said to him that they grew up together.

I suspect that Matt (pastor) may be challenging his faith. I dont think his wife is paralyzed or w/e she was anymore. Sounded like hr was going to reveal something that went against what doctors had told him about his wife (who never looks at him). Which im guessing Matt and hr were having issues but then the accident came and she couldnt fight with him?

I say this because during Matt's focal episode didnt he have a dream or vision of having sex with his wife then it turned out to be Laurie (kevins wife) and then he was laying in flames.

As for as the ep2 trailer they played some of that out of sequence to piece together the suspense. Theres no way Garvey tells law enforcement he has a body in the truck. I guess this is where we get to see fat nasty patti again.

Wonder what the back story on Regina King and the hearing aids will be?

I was really bothered by the daughters pitching motion when they were playing catch. You can tell she doesnt really play, if she does then she isnt really a pitcher. She had no follow through at all it was that awkward stop of the arm after she released the ball.

 I was joking. Since Eddie Winslow the character is from Chicago.

I'm not talking about the character. I didn't miss him saying this is his house and his town too or that John said he knew him since the 3rd grade.

I believe what Matt was going to say was something about the disappearances and GOD that has to do more with his crazy beliefs about what happened and less about religion and I guess John and the rest of the town aint in to that to the point he could get shunned.

1st episode was dope. :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:

Love how many black actors they got on this season, hope it succeeds off the strength.

Anybody also  @ John with his attempted murder story?

He said that **** like it was supposed to be intimidating yet he doesn't know he's talking to a dude that's actually crazier than him.

In one of the trailers i watched Regina King had mentioned that John wasnt that much of a churh God type of guy. I think thats why when he was up that one morning and she asked why he was up and he said to go to church she was like mmhmmm. I agree though that Matt was about to reveal something he believed and the town is def not ready for that. Not to mention Matt is walking around with the secret of helping Kevin get rid of Pattis body

Haha I laughed at that too he was prob thinking he a bad mf .. but kevin over there like yeah well i kidnapped someone during a blackout then buried their body lol.

Like i said earlier either John and Kevin will clash or theyll be partners in crime when this town starts to unravel.

Doesnt look like we wil find out what happened to Evie in Ep2 .. seems like its focused on the Garveys after the fire and moving to Jarden.

Yeah I know it wasn't random women... but it was sort of a random cut to an obscure scene (which seemed to confuse a few people). But the scene of her at choir practice, as well as other slightly-off things they were showing about the family up to that point, established some general context that there's something up with all of them. So when they do the random cut to the woods, it's more like "so yeah there is definitely something up," not just "what the HELL was that?"

In season one there was a lot of "what the HELL was that supposed to mean?" We were supposed to understand there's a weird vibe about everyone, but didn't get much else to go on. In this episode at least, the writers established that there might be something off about each of the family members + the town is regarded as special, and all the scenes worked towards these two points.

So that's what I mean about them giving more context to the scenes, in a narrative/storytelling sense. The structure of it definitely feels improved.

Oh okay, it read like you meant who was that. I can agree things are improved for the context of the storytelling.

I miss the gr, they interested me the most s1

they are very interesting in the book, they were great in the show for what they were, wonder if they'll start a chapter in miracle.

Premiere was great! it just reminded me of LOST(lindelof involved) the first part with the cavewoman and her kid reminded me of the episode with the man in black and jacobs origin story, the quaking seemed to be because of a release of energy of some sort that could not be kept. The dad burning down the houses reminds me of a keeper/protector(like ben was) of this "island"(miracle) who is trying to protect it from the outside world, like newer residents. I'm SURE it goes in a different direction, but I'm sure theres some type of energy pocket that miracle sits on, that prevented any departures in that town.

Interesting first episode, will be *****ing and moaning with you guys all season

Ready for the second episode and all the random irrelevant red herrings

Forgot to say, the cricket reminds me of the whole deer thing from season 1. Actually come to think of it, was the deer real? And the whole thing with his imaginary guy friend who was hunting dogs, was that real? Too lazy to look it up or figure out what the meaning of that storyline was

I do remember there ended up being a dead deer

But my memory is hazy on S1. Might've all been an extended hallucination.
