I like that she's in a lot of stuff I watch now  Her and that other old fat lady that looks like her that's in The Americans/Masters of Sex

Which character in the Americans and Masters of Sex? I cant figure it out.
 To me they look alike; Ann Dowd and Margo Martindale

I just keep seeing them in a lot of stuff. No surprise cuz they're both good actresses.

Don't watch The Americans but she's Bill's mother in Masters Of Sex.

I know for a fact she isn't the lady in The Americans, but the mom on masters of sex I can see it now. I needed the visual that Master Zik posted.

im actually kind of hyped about this weeks episode. I didnt think that was possible lol

Caught a piece of an episode where dude went from 20k to 160k on the roulette, what epi is that?...I'm i far behind...I WAS LOSTTTTT...the scenes kept jumping back and forth and I didn't understand much, is this sort of a "rapture" where the people that vanished were saved and those that stood behind will have to prove their worth or die in hell on earth?...that's the time that episode gave off...
That is the latest episode.

Honestly, I didn't understand much from the first two and the officer/rabid dog story arc was starting to get annoying. This episode had a little more clarity and was straightforward, which is what made it good.
You guys are reading too much into the show.

Just assume it IS the rapture and this is the aftermath.

As for the dogs, cop officer: people vanished and their pets were left to fend for themselves for a couple of years and turned feral.  There may or may not be a guy out shooting the feral packs of dogs, or it may be the cop with split personality disorder. it's unclear, but that's the point. We're not supposed to know right now.

I know TV has turned into this weird ride of wanting to know ALL the answers right away but at the same time not wanting everything spoon fed to you and explained from day 1, but the best advice we can get right now is just enjoy the ride.

You're prob (definitely) never going to get a perfect explanation in season 1 of where the vanished people went, but that's unimportant.

We wanted a TV show we could speculate on and build a mythology around. True Detective wasn't that, but Leftovers kinda delivers.

I mean people got teleported to the sky. Just guess at it like we did Lost and hope some day we know. and if not, then just talk about how hot the daughter and her friend look when playing spin the iphone.

p.s. is that a real app I got a party tonight that'd be a great look at...

It was explained why they smoke

"WHAT’S WITH THE CIGARETTES?

“We smoke to proclaim our faith,” goes the GR’s slogan. Much like the vow of silence or the white clothing, the cigarettes are just a piece of this complicated puzzle. According to an interview with Perrotta in support of The Leftovers book release, the cigarettes are “a declaration of faith and a sense that they have that there’s no future and they don’t have to worry about their health.”"

Jeez :smh:

They could've just stuck with a lot of them are hooked on nicotine like in the real world.

Making the cigs a thing is so dumb. Not everything has to have a meaning. Aint like every single one of them smokes. I mean you telling me if I want to join, one of the things I gotta commit to is possible lung and throat cancer?

i caught the first episode somewhere I cant remember because I dont have HBO at home, i came in like 15 min in and was lost/curious.

Anywhere to watch full episodes online or something. i dont have HBO Go though, unless an NTer wants to be generous

Do you torrent? Lol

Finally rewatched the third episode. That's some good t.v. right there....

Rev was a FOOL walking outta that casino with that money without a care in the world though, and even more foolish rolling down the window.

Girl I'm hanging out with recommended the show since she read the book, but I'll be honest I was wondering what the hell was going on in the first two episodes. the third episode was some of the best television I've seen in a while. worked so well with the storyline. Has anyone here read the book? I'm half tempted to because I want to know what the hell is going on and why people are gone, but then again I wan't to be surprised watching this show.

Havent read the book, I read the cliff notes and it says that the author does not give the reasoning for the disappearance. Sorry.

I wrote here before that I like that no one knows what happened. Viewers are left to wonder just like the characters are. Something happened that no one has an explanation for, just like stuff that occurs in real life.

Best episode so far IMO.
Still don't know what is going on, though.

The one tonight or last week? Last week's episode was the best. It touched on a lot of stuff I wanted to know. Tonight, not so much. The bodies on the road part was dope, but everything kept going back and forth back and forth I don't like that part of the series.

Im not the one :pimp:

Episode was eh...took a couple steps back from last week

Left with more questions (which isnt bad)

Not really understanding the baby jesus fiasco with how it eneded

And the bodies dumped from the container

I like me some Nora doe

This ep was okay, kinda again had me preferring a show focused on the daughter and her friend.

The chief frustrates me the way the ep is focused on him but w/e. At this point I'm feeling the whole him smashing the friend's sister is a red herring but it seems he's gonna be smashing the chick that lost her family soon.

Crazy how the teens with the baby Jesus doll was about to reenact a Game of Thrones scene

The GR really have no shame. I was waiting for somebody to shoot them with a shot gun for BnE. I mean trying to force the idea that there iss no point in life or w/e since what happened seems so pointless in itself.
