first song/band/artist that you can vividly remember taking over

i liked spice girls growing up..I didn't have their cds or anything but when they came on the radio/tv I enjoyed the song/video
 
Lil Bow Wow bounce with me was the first song I knew all the words to and beware of the dog was my first cd, I think I still got it

tv show song , paula cole i dont wanna wait

I remember Hot Boyz 'Bling Bling' blowing up...my cousin saw them at the Slauson Swap Meet next to my grandmother's house back in the day.  When she came back and told us we had the :wow: face like a mug

Eminem and Lil Bow Wow

I remember I was mad watching 106 when his What's My Name song came out because he kept saying "my name is" and I was telling my brother "bro! He's copying Eminem!!" I LOVED "My Name Is" and Em's weirdness in the video was great for a child. :lol:

I ended up being a huge Bow Wow fan until I got old enough to not like his music anymore.
 
There was this MC Hammer VHS tape that came out in between 90-92, so I was between 3-5 at the peak of Hammers popularity. That tape had all of his hits up to that point, and was also a documentary. I used to pop that vid in, grab a mic, put on a tux and some shades, and basically do every dance move on there :lol: my dad had recorded me once, doing this, and the tape (along with the original camcorder) is buried in the garage somewhere. As of 2000, the tape still works. No one else will ever see that tape :lol:
 
you probably where young enough to remember kanye west late registration which kinda took over ...maybe mariah carey we belong togethor , t-pain buy you a drank
