That's the most eye contact that's ever been made on a train, nothing like fear of rodents to bring people together.

I'd be cracking up at this whole ordeal like that Latino dude if I was there. Nothing like seeing adults screaming from a small animal.

Rats look a lot bigger in real life than on that video


Speaking of rats, I was at Rockefeller the other day and there was a rat near the turnstiles
I mean, I expect rats on the rats but turnstiles are a whole different thing

never seen any on the Metro or train before...

any sort of green space has those burrowing bastards running around once it gets dark...i hate walking across Washington Circle and Dupont Circle late at night during the summers...see them shoot across the pavement to the bushes 
 
Surprised people were acting like that.  Seems like a lot of them were just caught in the spectacle of making it a spectacle.  These are people who have most likely seen hundreds if not thousands of rats in the subway during their lives. 

According to NYPIRG Straphangers Campaign, there's a 1 in 10 chance of seeing a rat on any commute, and that's from any vantage point on the platform.  Way I see it, it actually seems more surprising that I wouldn't see a rat on the tracks than that I would.  Some of the times you'll see them on the platform and in rare cases, they'll actually make it to the train.  Nobody I've seen has ever reacted like this. 
 
I watched it this morning and was surprised there were more men screaming than woman and standing on the chairs was OD
