what rappers had the biggest buzz at any one time , top 10 .... vol. eminem , 50 cent , lil wayne ,

canibus ,jadakiss and method man in their prime all over 50?

50's buzz was because of the co sign from EM which was just as big as gettin a Dre co-sign was back in the day.

I don't believe in the G-unit mixtapes, because they wasn't rappin better than Desert Storm artists or any NY rappers in the early 2000's.  50 without the co-sign and machine backing him would be a gold artist. The rappers I mentioned did it off bars and delivery and flow and features. The real way.

Ok but real or fake has nothing to do with buzz

50's buzz was REAL HEAVY...He had grinded the mixtapes and had some bubble, signed with Em & Dre which kicked it up with the mainstream, then the narrative of "OMGZ shot 9timezzz" started spreadin like wildfire, and this was in the download era so in between the hype and release, people went and downloaded his mixtape stuff and got on point. They was makin mixtapes of his mixtapes. Then the singles smashed. The album smashed. High profile beef smashed. It was a pretty unique setup and a perfect storm for an artist to explode.

Snoop. Actually outshined dre on the chronic and that nothing but a g thang video.

50 as well. Everybody and their moms had that bootleg grodt before the actual release.

SNOOP in 93' Before & After DOGGYSTYLE I remember me & my big brother went to SAM GOODY at midnight to go get DOGGYSTYLE..There was a line almost around the block for that album SNOOP was the man...

1.Snoop in 93 > anyone
2.2pac after California love dropped
3.Dmx in 98/99
4 Method Man before Tical dropped
5. Canibus after Beasts from the East Verse
6.Jadakiss right before 1st album dropped
7. Eminem around the time of 8 mile
8.Jayz after Takeover dropped on hot 97
9.Lil Wayne around the time of a milli
10. 50 cent (as hard as i hated he does belong in top 10

Clearly you hate 50. He didn't do it the real way? He got one of the most lyrical rappers of all time and greatest producers of all time to sign him. He must have done something right. It's hard to argue with 50 being number one. His album was leaked like a month in advance and still sold 860K his first week and sold it again his second week. They said he would have broke a million the first week if almost every store hadn't sold out. Wayne, X, Jay, Canibus, Meth and Jadakiss? Their buzz was nowhere near 50, Em or Nelly.

Em's buzz for MMLP :wow: :smh: it was stupid. Personally, it's between his MMLP release and 50's debut. We'll never see anything like that again.

Country Grammar had a crazy buzz when that joint came out. Nellyville too. Nelly had a lot of buzz.

Drake had a nice buzz but it's not even close to 50 and Em's buzz. NOT EVEN CLOSE. The buzz around The Massacre album was even bigger than Drake's buzz and most of this guy's list I quoted.

Lil'Wayne's buzz probably felt bigger to me than it was to me, because I was in High School when Carter 3 dropped but the lead up to C3, with killing all the features and then "A Milli" dropped

.

50 cent between GRODT and Massacre was huge too.

Wayne's run really convinced me and everyone around that he was top 5 dead or alive. C3 had crazy hype man, he has to be close to top 5.

*waiting for old heads to walk in with public enemy and nwa like we had any idea*

Now that I think about it, where does Bow Wow rank on the buzz list? His debut run might actually be up there, and then he had a second run around that Fresh Azimiz/Let Me Hold You era when he made that album wit omarion. j/s

Bow wow was def the black bieber back then lol every chick in my school class loved that dude. Hated his guts

It's between Fif, Snoop, Wayne n' Drake. Those are legendary runs n' buzzes.

Where were you when Country Grammar dropped, Marshal Mathers LP? Couldn't have been on planet earth.

Somewhere on the Magic School bus eating crayons

Jadakiss? Usidcideekficiifof

 in dudes defense, Kiss had dudes waiting for 2 years for his album.

Snoop and 50 take the cake in this discussion tho... GRODT was EVERYWHERE.

Snoop and 50 had the biggest buzz for any debuting artist ever

But if we're talking buzz for post debut albums there are a lot of contenders

I agree

I did hate on 50 a lot but I was low key bumpin his music.  I will give it to him on the buzz though he had the shoes, the deals.
dude said Jadakiss though...
Jada didn't have one of the most anticipated albums of all time though?  He wasn't killin it on the features before his album dropped after?

Just make a top 20 man because dudes like Kiss and Gucci are not touching 50, Pac fresh out of jail, Snoop after Chronic, Nelly, etc.

Dont act like you wasnt on the wayne bandwagon when he was running the game

I wasn't, but thanks for your assumption champ. I never did care for Wayne. As the saying goes, if you know better you would do better. Which is why I was never a Wayne fan.

Either way Wayne simply isn't top 5 dead or alive as our young colleague above alluded to. We appreciate his and your zeal on the matter however.
