Dude was on fire when he just upped and left the game, I cant hep but wonder whenever one of his songs come on how big he could have been! He was my favorite rapper period as a kid. Harlem world still gets spins every week or so.

Na, but I also think jay and nas aren't in the same category as MC's, money and power moves aside.

Plus mase had puffy, we all know what happens there.

There's a little truth to that, but you can't sell dude short on that debut album. That was a smash with the perfect balance of street/commercial joints. It woulda popped even if Big were around. Plus Big woulda been on it.

Nah. His appeal would've died out eventually.

Had he somehow managed to merge his C.O.C style with his Bad Boy style (and not gotten in trouble doing whatever it was) he probably would've left a more noticeable mark in the game.

I don't know about all that, but I always feel like we were cheated to not have Mase around for that early 2000's Timbo/Neptunes/Just Blaze/Kanye production era.

We woulda got some ill ****. Imagine Mase talking **** over the smooth Neptunes guitars or a soulful Ye loop.

he worked with neptunes on lookin at me....i think he would gave jay and nas some comp more or less jay cause nas doesnt make u wanna bump all the time

Fab not braggadocious?  We must not be talking about the same person.

Either way, Fab his own person and has his own career.  That said, the whole transition from street dude to flyguy/ prettyboy/ crossover rapper that Fab got successful off of came right out the Mase playbook.
