Pimp C appreciation

I think I've watched my pimp c DVD 100x.

Luv the pimp. Much respect to bun.

Pimp had so much knowledge and intelligence to share to the world.

The Pimp is in my blood.

Top notch **** is the song that made jay-z a fan of pimp...if you watch his "my diary" he's in the Benz bumpin Ugk

I'm so throwed in the game
Gettin my paper takin over they brains
The drank over the ice is so cold
Pulled up to the light look like diamonds striked a pose
These ****** in this game they wanna stop the Pimp
Don't wanna see me comin up and flyin like a blimp

Hook game something serious :nthat:

swishas and dosha :smokin
gravy :smokin :smokin :smokin

Them two songs right there set the tone for the whole album, both Pimp and Bun snapped, specially in Gravy, man said " gotta play the hand that ya' dealt, until it's your time to deal" that is one of the realest lines ever. I
grew up on them boys being from central Texas, couldn't go anywhere without hearing them, when Ridin' Dirty came out it was a wrap, Diamonds and Wood, Pimp was spitting something I could feel like he wrote it for me. Much respect to them and the true fans, RIP to Chad Butler.

The Pimp never was afraid to let his nuts hang. Throwing shots at anybody and aint eem care, from Master P, The Roots, and even his squabbles with Bun.

I was legit sad the days following his passing

I'm smoking skunk n Poppin the trunk to make me feel good :nthat:

I appreciate Pimp C and UGK. Wish I could say I got put on to him earlier but I got put on by the last UGK album and that Get Throwed song. That song and the album gave me an eargasm, and the production was nice. :smokin

I'm from Cleveland and for some reason in the late 90's and early 2000's - Houston had a big impact on our region, from Fat Pat, to UGK, to the whole Screwed up Movement.

But I was introduced to UGK and Pimp in 1997 or 98. Believe it or not, the lamest dude I knew during the time got me hip to Pimp C. I was in middle school and the lame kid would be listeing to Ridin' Dirty literally everyday of that summer before school started..I was very intrigued because both Bun and Pimp had distinct sounds and it was raw, and you can tell they were keeping it real in their rhymes.

As the world turns with 50 was probably the song that stood and really grabbed my interest into UGK.

Ever since than I was an actual fan, and this was before they actually went mainstream and joined Jay Z.

After that song with 50, Jay jumped on the bandwagon and joined UGK for Big Pimpin. So technically, 50 influneced Jay to make that song with them (same type of pimping content). So in a way, 50 Cent introduced me to UGK :smokin along with the lame kid that I knew (props to the lame kid though )

And I've been a fan and respect UGK since.

Didn't know NT had so much love for The Pimp. But I will say Bun said Pimp was supposed to be on A week ago on Volume 1, but Jay wasn't traveling because Big had just got killed. So Pimp told him I ain't coming to New York if you can't come down here. So idk if 50 turned him on to UGK. And Pimp didn't want to do Big Pimpin that's why his verse is so short. It's all in one of his Combat Jack episodes.

Agree with everything said in this thread but one thing that hasn't been brought up, Pimp C is one of the most underrated PRODUCERS in the history of the genre. One of the best to ever do it imo.
As he said " gimme 30 thousand and I'll serve you some heat, I'll write your rhymes, sing the hook, and I'll make you a beat" you sir weren't lying.

If you guys haven't read $Sweet Jones$ Pimp C's Trill Life Story, please, please do so, it is a really really good book, plus he would want you to.  I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but after reading the book Pimp's death is looking funny in the light.

Yeah, Pimp's verse was like 8 bars, he was hoping Jay wouldn't want it, but Jay did.
