I looking to diversify my wardrobe fallaz. I'm a t-shirt and jeans thrown in with a button up, sweater, jacket, whatever type guy. My wardrobe has been simple since I been able to buy my own clothes. I've always been on shoes because I went to a private school in which we could only wear a uniform, so all we could show off in were shoes. With that said, I'm trying to look for a good suit. I want to know all that I need to look for when buying a suit. Just for reference, I want something in the line of bro on the right, not how bro looks on the left.

You just need a good tailor TBH
Get a buy 1 get 1 free suit at mens warehouse. And get you a good tailor and tell him you want Italian cut

Would a tailor need my measurements and all that?

Yes
You would go to them and they would measure you to make sure they give you the best fit. They put the suit on you and make necessary changes so that it fits your body perfect

Do not, DO NOT let the tailor at mens warehouse tailor your suit...they are a bunch of old idiots who will have you looking like dude on the left.

Go to a young, stylish tailor that understands the modern fit.

Nah. When you find a suit that fits you pretty well from a store then you bring it to a good tailor. Then he'll make whatever measurements and adjustments to the suit to make it fit you bettter.

Find an Asian tailor that can barely speak English, that's how you know is real. :pimp:

jos a bank...get like 5 suits for the price of one

but establishing a price range is important...

I think there's a local tailor in my neighborhood. I'll go check it out soon.

it's ALL about the tailor.

i got a couple suits from mens warehouse, made the mistake of letting them do the first alterations. took it to another tailor shop. when he was done with the pants, they look as good if not better than dress pants sold at express :pimp:

Cool, cool. How do tailors go about they pricing?

also, take pictures of fits you like to your tailor. make sure he sees what you see. and don't let him bully you either. SRS.

it's different from tailor to tailor. i paid about 100 to get the legs tapered on 3 different pants, and a little extra work done.

Buy some nice sportcoats too. A nice sportcoat with some fitted jeans and a tucked in button up will make u look swagtastic

I don't see anything wrong with the guy on the left. It looks like it fits ok. Buttoning up both buttons on the jacket makes it look worse and the pants are too long, but other than that I think it looks ok.

You should go for something like that opie. That whey you can move around and won't feel as restricted

Same exact story with me
**** those old men at mens warehouse trynna tell YOU how to wear YOUR suit

And as far as pricing. It all depends on the work that needs to be done. I usually get my arms lengthened, the sides taken in, and the arms slimmed. For pants I get them lengthend and slimmed.

My tailor charges me around $70 for a full suit. If I do more than 1 suit I get a discount. And if I give him a little bit of head up about 3 weeks in advance he'll give a discount

Not that there's anything wrong with it, I just prefer the slimmer look. All my clothes are slim fitting.

What you mean by bully? Like make suggestions I don't want or something?

you tell the guy what YOU want. show him pictures of what YOU want. i've dealt with some pushy tailors who want things done their way, and sometimes they're a little out of touch

It's your body, have them cater to it. They can't tell you what you want
