Splitting rent vol.. NoTHanks to dat closet

Master bedroom with it's own bathroom should be more, like a bill more, unless there's an agreed upon fair way to decide who gets it.  Everything else should be equal.

Dudes busting out the measuring tape to recoup on the next man's extra square foot? Come on son.

126 square feet vs 168 ft .. I need my desk mini fridge and full size bed... Have y'all ever slept two to a twin bed? It's really uncomfortable which is why I got a full which I like

yup and yall should just flip a coin for the bigger room
Thats what we did  back in days. We aint paying for a bedroom we are paying for a roof under our heads. If i was the OP you better pass up on the roommate, yaw gonna have problems later

If i got to pay more for a master, I'm better off getting studio apart or one bedroom for about the same price less headache

Even paying more for a bigger bedroom is less than a one br apartment by at least 130ish ...

Nah its a bad idea. Because it becomes a slippery slope.  Everything would be billed based on usage.  How would you calculate who uses more water than the next person? Who uses the power more? Who uses the wi-fi more.  Just split everything equally.

get our own water filtering jug...

get your own internet USB adapter...

the power is used equally, period. Everyone gotta charge their phone, watch TV, use their computer etc.....

Seriously though, **** a roommate but if you've got to room with someone whoever is getting the bigger room is paying more, period. Or we're throwing hands.

And yes been there done that.

I had a roommate in college who went to live at home for the summer and expected me to carry the whole rent. Don't really talk to that dude anymore lol

I have the bigger bedroom in my place now, but when my roommate and I looked at it, we wanted different rooms, so it worked out.

Split everything 50/50. It's cheaper than living alone no matter how you slice it, and you shouldn't live with people who you aren't willing to "help out" even a little bit like that.

this.

Dudes counting every penny all the time :x

why rent a place then that has a "master bedroom" and lesser bedroom?

A lot of places have that set up and to some people location matters more.

I have no problem paying more for the master and my boy has no issue with the "lesser" bedroom.

Given the quality and location of our apt I'm saving at least $300 in rent alone.

I'm also good friends with my roommate and would never live with a rando

I'd hate to be some of y'all roommates. I always forget some people werent raised in a 'the person I'm living with is like fam' family. I've had sooo many different roommates, yea some screwed me over but such is life. Love peace and chicken grease is the mantra.

Bathroom = more bread

A few more feet? You prolly shouldn't have roommates cuz I guarantee that ain't gonna be the only thing you complain about. After you move in you won't eem notice it anymore.

dude, was is wrong with your spelling/typing?

I've seen bhergh's PYP. Unless his foot fungus spread to his brain I'd bet he talks nothing like this in real life. Pretty ridiculous that someone would type like that, purposely, for whatever reason other than mocking ninjahood. Look at his sig...

all of this. i had the same roommate all throughout college and we never had any problems, and if anything came up we settled stuff fair and square. on topic he took the master and paid $50 bucks more than me in rent (the rooms were roughly the same size but it has its own bathroom) and we split everything else evenly.

Depends.

If the room is significantly bigger, I'll calculate the cost of square footage.

Edit:

Some of y'all are either great roommates, or I'm just stingy. :frown:

There is no way I'm paying the same amount of rent if my room is significantly smaller than my roommates. I've had roommates (friends) plenty of times and we never had an issue with each other regarding this issue.

We'll all discuss openly on who wants which rooms. If there are issues, a coin will be flipped or settled with a game of rock, paper, scissors.

Calculate the cost of square footage per room and break the rent fairly. Utilities are always split evenly amongst everyone.

Also im on mobile a lot of da times and o c.f. Ontario see sigs... and I've been using d instead of th for a long time just mostly for da..

my Sig was too long.. so I had to compress. . I type like this bcuz its faster.. n it ain't that serious... and I am willing to pay more for the bigger room .. bit he wants it for equal rent as everyone else...it doesn't have its own bathroom but is on the floor with a bathroom by itself
