Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT = $99k Limited Edition = Debut NYAS

Hows the driving experience with the DB9? And what ****** you got if you don't mind me asking?

I test drove the old (2007-2008) ****** (manual and auto) and they weren't that great, the auto was especially bad. Also tested the 2009 or 2011 with the updated ****** and it was a bit better but I forgot if it had the new Sportshift II, that 7speed is suppose to make a vast improvement. I wish they would get a dual clutch already.

Nope.

A lot of folks try to fake the funk. I knew a guy who had a G55 wagon (top of the line at the time since 63 wasn't out) and had no money to pay for insurance.

A close friend of mine has a motoring shop around the area...there's been a few Maybachs that come in and ask for replica wheels over the years. Since the economy tanked, not too many folks are shelling out top money for quality parts.

Even something on like a $50-60k car (admittedly not too high on the grand scale, but still quite expensive), some owners had asked for stock springs to be cut for a lowered look.

i dont think anyone with a car worth a damn would just go springs?

that is common sense right?

on the c63 board, i'd say a solid 75% of people opt for springs. they're about $300. the coilovers are about $2k. substantial price difference.

a few people still get $5k+ wheels, but a lot more opt for cheaper $1500-$2000 wheels. not sure what prices you guys consider a lot or what was considered a lot back in the day, but it seems most people are content with not throwing a lot of their money into them. you do have the other people that throw $20k superchargers and whatnot too.

I've had tein S tech springs on my Evo and it sucked. I've driven and rode others with various springs and they also left much to be desired. I ended up with Tanabe coilover. I went with Kw on the 335 and loved the ride.

I've never had an M or AMG, I don't even know what wheels you can get for 1.5 to 2k that aren't replica wheels for those cars. I personally wouldn't get reps at all. Had Advans on the Evo. Had iforged and Volks on the 335. I'm a hardcore fan of jdm wheels. The iforged was pricey and sucked.

i've stuck with the stock suspension for now. i'm not really worried about the height of the car and i already had a lip installed so it'd only be a pain to drop it any lower.

i had bought some Forgestar wheels for about $1600 without tires. probably the most popular wheel on the whole forum. i recently got a great deal on some ADV.1's that I'm getting mounted tomorrow and i've got a guy driving 9 hours down from toronto to come buy my old wheels for $2k saturday morning.

like i've said in the other thread before, this is my first car that i've actually done stuff to so i'm still learning as i go. as far as i know though, most people that install the springs are more than happy with them. softens up the ride a bit even while lowering the car about an inch which is pretty much all it would ever need. it just seems that most people aren't willing to drop thousands of additional dollars into their cars unless they have a whole stable full of clk black series, sls black series, etc as well.

Not really feeling the clown makeup, but other than that..
