Pharrell's "Happy" is the greatest song of the past 24 years.

Pharrell is a living legend IMO. I'm just sick of the ******* song. A song that promotes happiness is not supposed to make me angry

Its good song.

A lot of you oversell it, and the there half undersell it. It is what it is..

It isn't the greatest song ever, and it isn't a bad song. Its just a good, enjoyable, feel good song.

How long before Pitbull remixes it to some techno nonsense.

Semi-srs

I beg to differ, it's a bad song.

If I never have to hear "Happy" again I'll be a happy man.

Clap along if you feel like a room w/o a roof?

Clap along if you feel happiness is the truth?

Clap along if happiness is it to you?

Clap along if you feel that's what you wanna do?

Man **** Pharrell and his lame *** Vivienne Westwood Mountain Hat wearin' ***.

Why are you taking this song more serious than its meant to be?

Its a song about being happy, and it makes people happy.

Sometimes SIMPLE is all you need. Stop digging for something deeper. Music isn't always about some deep message... The message is all in the title of the song.

sometimes there's such thing as overly simplistic, sophomoric, pretentious, nursery rhyme-esque.

And "Happy" fits the bill.

And let's not forget '24 Hours of Happy'. Kill, me, now......

While you sit, and over invest yourself in the simplicity of this song, and how it pisses you off.

Someones listening to the song somewhere... Enjoying it. Not giving a damb.

You clearly miss the objective of the song.

This song is one of those songs that sucks but everyone is afraid to say it because of the message it has.

But it sucks.
Blurred Lines was hotter
This is one of the worst songs I have heard in years.

Nah I got it, loud and clear. I just don't feel it.

Someone brought up Marley earlier in the thread, now that's music that speaks to the soul.

"Could you be loved" for example, amazing song, never gets old or repetitive. Timeless.

I'm speaking to the context of the thread, calling this trash *** song the best song of the past 24 years. Please, this is not classic music.

But who said this song had to be timeless?

Ya'll set yourselves up for your own frustrations when ya'll create these expectations. Could you be loved wasn't predicted to be the greatest song of the past 24 years when it initially released. Nobody back then was talking about some "I SHOT THE SHERIFF IS THE BEST SONG TO DROP IN THE LAST 50 YEARS, B."

For some reason, people nowadays feel the need to crown something "classic" instead of letting time take care of that itself.

If Happy is still played 20-25 years from now, then that'll settle whatever in regards to if it really is a timeless song.

Kudos for da Marley though. And if you don't feel the song, then hey, I can't say **** about that. Music is all personal opinion.

I'm just saying, I for one don't have any problems with the song. I don't even listen to the radio.

*shrug*

Alright I only made this thread to rustle some jimmies. I don't actually believe this.

I do think it's a timeless record.

I just can't see how people can really hate on this song besides the fact that it's everywhere.

'Cuz it's just not that good.

I'm not a mainstream "single" type of guy. There's a million songs I can name that are better than whats "popular".

But if we're going to talk about popular singles, I'll take "Stronger" (Kanye) or "Hey Ya" (Andre 3000) over this.

Again John Legend's "All of Me" is an infinitely better single than this. First time I heard it in the car with wifey I got a lil' misty .

Sonically it isnt a good song neither is blurred lines. Both songs irritate me. Its obvious im not the intended audience so its whatever. havent even heard g i r l but I already know its not for me. And im a big neptunes fan

How is this the best song in the last 24 years????
Have u not heard "FANCY" by the dream
Pure cocaine in musical form
