The movie has nothing to do with the show, they are two completely different characters and plots. If you didnt see the movie it should not affect your experience.

^i know it's separate from the show but since I'm liking the show I want to see the movie now.

Not completely true. We know the movie is in the same continuity with the show.

Once you see the movie you'll see how that is shown and how the show does call back references to the movie.
I know the show is based on a true story, idk if the movie is.
Apparently none of it is based on a true story. It's sort of like a joke or a lie to make the show seem more grounded.

I mean after this past ep it's hard for me to believe any of that really happened

Yeah I believed it too  but I started questioning it after the recent ep. Somebody told me it's just what the Coen Bros did for w/e reason. It's the same with the movie. It felt fishy that they had to put that disclaimer before every ep. Changed names but real events over and over.

I'm so ready for this ep tomorrow. I hope Key and Peele don't mess it up... show has a dry humor to it that I think they can pull off, but if they don't Ill never forgive them

It IS inspired by several real events that happened, they pieced them together, blew them out of proportion and wrote a new story out of them. So in a sense, it is based on real life that they spun into a new story.
The closest Fargo  comes to being a "true story" is that one might fairly say it was "inspired by" some real-life incidents, primarily the disappearance of Helle Crafts, a Danish flight attendant, from her home in Newtown, Connecticut, in 1986. Helle's husband, Richard (against whom she had begun divorce proceedings), was eventually arrested, tried, and convicted of her murder: Police theorized that Richard Crafts had struck his wife unconscious in their bedroom with a blunt object, then placed her body in freezer; he later removed her body from the freezer, chopped it up with a chainsaw, put the pieces through a woodchipper, and scattered the remains in and around a nearby river.

I was a huge fan of the movie and am loving the show. I like how it's paced and doesn't exactly follow the same story line of the film but keeps a lot of the themes intact.

Well this is REALLY blown out of proportion. I could probably find some similar murder cases dating back to the 80s to make it seem the show or movie is based off of it. This aint even located in the same area.

Also if you click the link in your quote it straight up says this isn't based on a true story

I never said it was based on a true story, I said it was inspired by real life events that they pieced together, added some fiction and wrote a new story from that.

"Police theorized that Richard Crafts had struck his wife unconscious in their bedroom with a blunt object, then placed her body in freezer; he later removed her body from the freezer, chopped it up with a chainsaw, put the pieces through a woodchipper, and scattered the remains in and around a nearby river. "

Although the film itself is completely fictional, the Coen brothers claim that many of the events that take place in the movie were actually based on true events from other cases that they threw together to make one story. Joel Coen said, "We weren't interested in that kind of fidelity. The basic events are the same as in the real case, but the characterizations are fully imagined.

The movie and the show both take different elements of this case, the movie with the woodchipper and Lester hitting his wife over the head.  It's just little pieces that they took here and there and made a new story. Enough of that, it's not really that important though.

Key and Peele make their debut tonight.

Key and Peele don't seem like the right fit for this show thats some weird casting. Hopefully Marvo kills them off quickly and brutally.

Lester Smashing with the anger and force of 1000 men

That scene was

. Lester is slowly turning into Malvo.

Now I understand why they cast Bob Odenkirk, that character he plays is a complete goofball.

Molly is about turn into Walter White.

NyGOD :pimp: Lester put in that work. Son got that Hannibal swagger now. I knew once he pulled off that fake confession he was gonna bang Hess' wife  I bet he'll eventually get around to banging his brother's wife too  :smokin

Molly's lucky. Like how she's really putting the pieces together but she's still assuming a lot about Lester's relationship with Malvo and underestimating how dangerous Malvo is. They think he's just some dangerous killer that was a gun for hire just with Lester. Dude is the real threat. I think trying to put the pressure on Lester this time around won't work, especially since he really didn't tell them where Malvo would be.

This ************ Malvo :wow: :wow: I'm happy they didn't show us him taking out 3 floors of ppl. That one little shot when dude fell out the window was enough  Dude told him it was probably personal and he really treated it that way. Took out the head of organized crime in Fargo in under 10 min and escaped effortlessly.

I don't think Key & Peele are funny at all on their show but I've actually found them funny in other stuff like Whose Line. They were okay in this. Thought they were playing cops. Even funnier they're FBI and Malvo walks right in front of them unnoticed and walks across the street uzi in hand until he gets in

What a start. This dude Martin Freeman is an elite actor.

He's flourishing.

I didn't even want to mention it. I've seen him be really good in so many things from tv to movies and to watch him excel in this is crazy. I really believe if this show did multiple seasons as a long form story instead of one and done he'd reach iconic status with this character. He really steps his game up and seems to be able to rise to occasion every time the writing is good. I feel like he could do what Bryan Cranston did with BB if he got paired with the right creator/writing team.

I've said it before but **** it I gotta say it again, Malvo is Satan.

Haven't seen a character as intelligent and ruthless since the GOAT Walter White.
