This show really plays like a good movie..I don't ever really remember getting bored watching it ..it's dark/twisted, yet funny as hell
Yeah it just has this charm to it. This season doesn't even have a big stand outs star (like Billy Bob) in it but the writing and the acting remain so strong.

I'd recommend all of the Coen Bros. movies.

Fargo the movie is more like Fargo S1 minus a Malvo type character since you watched the show before the movie.

Fargo the movie is in my top 10 all time.

Wow, what a great opening to this episode.

Wow another great ep pimp.gif

They're balancing the action/violence with the drama real well. Sad to see the homey Brad Garrett go mean.gif At least they didn't show his decapitation. I also liked how dude purposely left one twin alive the same way they left the father alive.

I feel sorry for Todd in this more. I see now his character is more like Walter White before the meth empire, broken with so many failed dreams. I almost thought the crippled Gehardt kid killed him the first go around. You can see him talking trying to hold on to that last dream of staying and owning the shop but he don't even know it's already slipped away. Then we see that same Todd from BB spark in him where he just acts and kills dude with the knife. That boy got a cold blooded killer in him for real.

The whole lie about Todd killing the other Gehardt makes him out to be a real assassin laugh.gif Now he's taken out another guy that came after him and wounded another one of their own.

The crippled Gehardt being so shook that he was ready to go back to school was a good scene and I just figured he be dead so that scene in the kitchen had me thinking he was done for.

Kirsten's character was really about to dip on him too laugh.gif Then conscience hit her hard and she does the right thing at the wrong time.

The way they wove things in and out with Reagan was real cool too. Brought a really dope cinematic effect to the killings.

laugh.gif @ Reagan's no answer about how to solve things to Lou. Did Reagan have like early Alzheimer's or something? Cuz to play him like he was always that forgetful even when young was funny.

Great episode. Absolutely loving this season. I think it's a lot better than season 1, which I liked very much as well.

.

I didn't expect him to go back. I expected him to realize that life wasn't for him.

- I thought the kid Gerhardt died in the butcher store when the bullet ricocheted to his head!  I can't wait to see how that all pans out now that they have him in custody and can tie the Gerhardts to all of this.  Being the weak link in the family in all of this... will he survive?!  Perhaps!

- But damn, had a feeling Todd was capable of that sort of violence... and we finally see it!

- And the bit with Peggy & Todd was also pretty amusing... despite wanting to leave, she decides to sell the car to help buy the butcher shop.  With the butcher shop in down in flames, they can't buy it anymore, so Todd decides to leave with Peggy... but can't cuz she sold the car!

- What's with all those magazines?!

- But aren't all politicians like that?  They offer a lot of reassurances, but when you get down to it, they never give a practical answer.  A lot of "we're gonna work really hard in making things better" and all that mumbojumbo.   And an interesting Alzheimer foreshadowing with the can't-remember bit.

- Lol Hanzee running along with Dodd’s “Butcher of Luverne" BS...

- Can Noreen be anymore depressing?!

i think this is the ep where the wheels finally fell off

hanzee not killing both kitchen bros :rolleyes

milligan not killing dodd's daughter :rolleyes

the kid not being able to go thru with it >D, but virgil gettin got the best of by todd :rolleyes

the strings are way too obvious, and characters acting in a certain way in order to keep the story going >D

too much "message sending" when its war :{

and the solution to gettin the money was so easy as to just conveniently sell the car |I

i think this was the worst ep of the season :{

i did like bruce campbell's reagan :lol

and molly drawing the ufo? 8o

okay then

Yeah they are and I'm not saying it's anything specific to Reagan, I just found it funny but when faced with a direct question most politicians can bull **** they're way out with more rhetoric. When asked how they'd say something like we just have to believe in ourselves and be united, take it one day at a time or some other such line of nonsense that is vague on specifics.

As for Reagan though, he was just forgetting a lot. Like at first I just thought he forgot something that wasn't important about how the movie ended and which movie it was in the bathroom but all of that stuff adds up to make him seem really forgetful like he's already senile laugh.gif

They might not even know but they may have just created a legend. Todd aint no joke. Shop is burning down, he's getting shot at, son gets the opportunity and puts that butcher's knife through that dude's skull mean.gif

I assume he's gonna have another attempt on his life and come out on top

I did too. I'm guessing dude with the scarred up face forced him to go back or gave him a 2nd chance to prove himself.

Apologize if this is an obvious answer but why send in the kid to the shop to do the butcher? I know the kid wants to be initiated and they are letting him, but wouldn't you start him on a lesser job? The fam thinks the butcher did in their brother and the family is shook and mom wants blood....so you are sending in the rookie to finish?

cuz if they did properly thered be no second half of the season :lol

Told you guys fat todd would give people that work. He just seems like the guy who survives somehow even with professional killers going after him. The kid was lucky the girl told fat todd to drag him out. I would've stomped on his neck for trying to shoot me.

It was sort of an iniation and the uncle seemed kinda happy his nephew was so into wanting to do the job. Plus one of their hitters was with him overseeing it anyway. Jeffrey Donovan is my dude but his character gives no damns about his fam. He just wants to be in charge.

every time I see Ben Schmidt, all I think of is how he was the bad guy in Paul Blart: Mall Cop and the creepy brother in Wedding Crashers laugh.gif

One episode 1 of season 2..

These dudes linked the seasons.. Assumed it would be like American horror story where everything was separate and they could reuse actors

But man.. When that molly line dropped, had me like eek.gif

Had to look up the dad's name from season 1

I didn't remember names or events they referenced in season 1 amd thought it would be disconnected like ahs as well.
I literally just finished the last couple of episodes of season 1.. And obviously remembered the porch scene from the last episode

So when I heard the name Molly, I went to imdb to check the characters names
post #450 of 710

Yeah, I totally missed the porch-scene...

The good thing about watching them back to back is picking up on all the little references.
