No rings obviously but you can't deny that the Suns were very good under his watch. All I'm saying is if you're going to hire a HC, build a team around his style.


Not his fault we traded for D12 and decided to sign him instead of Phil and bring back the triangle. Total mismatch of personnel and staff. Not a fan of D'Antoni but IDK if he's got a fair shake.

And who praytell can we get in the offseason with Kobe's albatross of a contract that will bring us even back to playoff contention next year? He'll be a lameduck coach next season if they bring him back, just cut the losses now.

get another guy that may or may not be in our long term plans so that when we actually figure things out we cut him too and move on to our 1235th coach since phil?

One of the Van Gundy brothers, Kevin Ollie, Monty Williams, whoever, it's not going to be MDA though.

With Kobe's contract we'll still have ~22 million to spend.


IDK who to say we should target, that all depends on where that lotto ball hits for us. If we get lucky and can get Embiid or Parker, then I say we target Lowry in the off-season, resign R.Kelly, pick up Gortat on a 1 year deal and use the rest of the $$$ to bring in guys MDA wants for his system.

exactly, might as well use MDA as a stop-gap if nothing else. Might as well have some semblance of stability. What is bringing in another coach going to change our fortunes? Nothing.

Seriously though, hopefully somebody got rid of the black cat that's been running around Staples and we luck into a top 3 pick.
 
So while Gasol is saying he is not likely to be back, Kupchak has a different idea. According to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News, Los Angeles has a lot of interest in trying to re-sign Gasol in the offseason. Kupchak is confident they can convince the veteran to re-join and play with Kobe Bryant for his final two seasons.
