Things to do in ATL

bruh...

No...

That's not just outside coming south...

That's going EVERYWHERE when you're different.

My disconnect is where it seems like you go south and you're coming up.

When I've went east and west and chicks diggin the twang.

"I like how you say down" is what I get a lot.

Houston's down = dine

:pimp:

It is and I won't deny that. What's different stands out, that's just how it is. However for whatever reason being from New York or to a lesser extent LA gets some of these broads interested off the strength of that much higher then some random dude visiting their area from Cleveland, Detroit, Boston, Minneapolis etc. but again its what you do with it. If your constantly like "yo ma, I'm from New York, this spots wack, the spot we got on 125th is better" you come across as cornball. But if your on some laid back stuff and they realize your from New York, its usually a good conversation starter

I know its alot of cats in Dallas that claim their from LA when they really live in the valley or the inland empire and those dumb broads eat that up and believe it. Last time I was in Dallas I was with my homegirl and her friend and the dude she brought. He kept bragging he was from LA, I told him "oh word, that's cool, I live in west LA, where did you used to live at". Dude meekly said Santa Barbra (which is like an hour and a half away) and had this sad look like I made him look bad.

On a side note. I never knew it was different Texas accents and that Houston got their own distinctive accent. I gotta check that city out later this year.

exactly dudes making it seem like its some hot 97 exclusive or some ish... like its a nyc thing... It also depends on where bout you go based on alot of the places/areas ppl are suggesting... these ppl/chics arent exposed to ish and just nose wide open anyway... I mean some of this may hold true at like gsu area...buckhead etc... but you off in mlk..adamsville etc... aint no chic gonna be like oh damn open sesame to the pootang cause you from somewhere else... unless you got money or appear to have money.

And again even then this was ages ago...dudes talking bout this one time 10-15 yrs ago ppl were fascinated in awe of the accent etc... thats not today ppl run into see ppl especially nyc all day everyday be it in passing at the train station... walking downtown...etc.. its common place and normal now.  Its not the rarity it once was... Its common place..then you addd to the fact ny was held in this "certain" high regards and light due to its music and popularity and culture.. that kinda died off some once the music/hip hop scene pretty much diminished..
very true...

The world is more centralized...

And you're only impressing chicks who ain't seen much.

hell houston and dallas they like two different ways of slang and dressing etc... whats funny is many ppl from texas have lived there all their lives and because of the 7/8 hr distance difference never been to one another...

That is very true. One of my best friends lives in Dallas. This dude has never been to Houston, Austin, or San Antonio but will come out to New York when I'm in the city or go on random Vegas trips with me. But then I realized how far the cities are from eachother.

I took some thing called megabus from Dallas to Austin with my homegirl when I went out there a few years back. It was like $3 each way but I was shocked when it was like a 5-6 hour drive. Austin is poppin though.

Ima do that megabus thing to Houston and Austin later this year when I'm out that way :pimp:

Austin is a 3-4 hr drive, it's not really that bad

I'm in Houston all the time and don't really notice a differnce in accent or the way people dress

I took a bus that made a few stops and drove like a 70 year old grandma, so that's probably the reason behind the longer time when I went. Still Austin is poppin though, somewhat reminds me of a more humid version of San Diego minus the beach.

This mythical NT Summit %#*& got me laughing because it would be as easy as saying lets link at _______ bar or club and watch the playoffs kick off. But ain't nobody bout that life.

One thing I will give yall NY cats is that yall a tighter knit group. South regional forum sucks too.

My God this thread started off as something beautiful then I look up an NY is all in this thread pipe down with that.

Girls could care less about your accent, might be a nice opening but thats it . Move on

Now I spent 4 years down there for school in the AUC and that was some of the best 4 years of my life.

Every weekend an event is going down.

There is absolutely no reason any one should be bored down there lol

still tryna figure out when I am headed back to move down there full-time

Varsity's is terrible

WF is good after clubs.

Glady's Nights is a great spot to check out the waitresses be Spelmanites killing it

Is run-n- shoot sitll open?

Stone Mountain aint to far from Momma's Primetime right?
OP I'd check Atrium the AUC promoters throw alot of parties out there way, atleast when I was there 2010

What up dude. i've been down here since 2010. Its a great city. I would say check out little five, the high museum, Underground during the summer, taco mac has some fantastic beer selection, downtown decatur location is great during sports events, 4/20 sweetwater music fest this weekend if weather holds out..... ton of stuff to do. did you move here for family or work or something?

lol word. take it to the original "This is It"

This is true. I went to Atlanta numerous times and they love a northerner (preferably a NY *****). It's something about the accent, the way we dress, the way we smell, the aura we emit.

ATL women will be in love with your accent. They'll ask you to say "water", "coffee" and a bunch of other stuff. Eventually they'll let you smash just off the strength of that.
ATL box >

ATL women will approach a northerner in a HEARTBEAT. Them girls know what they want. And 10/10, it's a NY *****

Atlanta, my guy?

If you not going down there strictly for the *******, ain't nothing there for you..

Ain't much popping in ATL right now but the club scene (which i assume is being bombarded with batty men) ie Fly Young Red, Young Thug, just to name a few

Anyways, have fun. Go to Waffle House or something. But watch out for them ATL boys. They'll make advances to you and grab your *** then fight you when you try and resist.

Go to the varsity as well. Their food is iight. Nothing special. I had better food at Linden Pizza & Ribs in East New York, but that's neither here nor there.

Anyways, have fun, enjoy your stay. And take advantage of the woman to straight man ratio. It'll work in your favor

Stuff like this kills me...

Im not gonna tell you that you wont pull anything off the strength of your accent/ "NY swag" (Lol) but don't bank on it. Its a numbers game like any other place essentially, we just got better number. They is a large number of people that come here from all over so there is bound to be some broads who dig your regional steez and some that wont, some NY cats win, some Cali cats win, Some Southern cats win, hell even foreign cats will take some W's. But truth be told with the influx of NYers (which is one of the largest), your market has been saturated doggy. I mean think about it, what population of NYers are the ones that moved down here for the pros or cheaper living cost, yada yada. The broke ones, the "cornballs" as yall call them. And you think they pioneered a good name for yall??

Bottom line, rely your mouthpiece more than your lingo.

Also, @FlyNY I honestly hope no one in this thread takes your advice. As a dude that grew up in ATL, I would NEVER IN MY LIFE willingly suggest to someone to eat at Waffle House and especially The Varsity. Some of the worst food not only in ATL, but period. That stuff used to be after the club/last resort food. Go ahead and enjoy ya 56% health code score food if you want but don't say nobody ain't say nothing, But suggestions like that just speak on your taste. #imjustsayin.

And your homophobia kills me because as so many of you NYers like to point out NY being the Mecca of everything, lets not forget that NY is the Mecca of the LGBT population too, lets not front. So dont act like you gon catch the T virus out here. Most people are only scared of things on their radar, if you dig what Im sayin....And I dont even know who the %*&^ Fly Young Red is!!! and idk why you do either. Man, Bye Felicia.

I was going to asky why yall addressing the obvious troll, but... If you're going to do it, this is the way to do it.

A+ reply. Would read again.

True, and that is exaclty why I did not reference food I mentioned the waitresses

lol word. take it to the original "This is It"

All in all Atlanta is the mecca for ******, if you aint pulling something is wrong.

Also somebody said chicks dont approach guys :smh: trippin. Women down there is aggressive if they want you they will say something regardless if ur chick is on ur arm or not
