Anyone have a 4k Ultra HD television? Help

It'll be a basement I can keep the door open and a couple of the windows but overall it won't be too bright. What other alternative should I look at? Really don't want to spend more than 1500. Preferably less.

Light bleed may be problematic but if it must be 65 inches and sub 1500 id only buy the 850. Full array at that size gunna push you over your budget

I saw the 850 on slickdeals for 1200 i think

Thanks. I won't be moving into my new home until probably march so hopefully I come across a better deal by then.
 
So I went to bestbuy and got a 930d and was entirely pleased with it and it was sick but then I went to return it because I was thinking the ks8000 model would better suit my needs because I've always been a Samsung guy when it came to tv but in my opinion the 930d was FAR better when it came to watching Netflix. There's noticeable background noise in the ks8000 while the 950d was smooth and no noise whatsoever. Those night scenes in shows such as ST blew my mind away. Even HD during the night had noticeable noise and the 930d had no noise whatsoever. Anybody got the same issue? Both looks great but the Sony looks much sharper than Samsung. Is it 400 dollars worth of difference? I'm not sure.

Does bestbuy do Returns of Returns since I might get the 950d once again. :lol:

They should as long as it's still in within the return date (30 days?). I am sure they get that a lot.

I am actually deciding between the two as well and I really do not want to get a Sony either because I've been mainly a Samsung guy so I think I am just going to wait until Samsung makes a comparable model since I am in no hurry.

Plus these TVs just moves so fast ahead that there will be something better soon enough.

actually I don't think that happen a lot. Only an indecisive person goes into best buy trying out tv's until the find the one they want. If you didn't have a problem with the first tv why take it back for a lesser tv and expect for that tv to be the same or better? Makes no sense ....

Now he want to go to best buy return that tv which will have to be marked down again because he wants to go with the tv he had earlier and return which was marked down since it was open box.

SMH.

Plus 9000 is comp to a 930D. Ks8000 is comp to 850D. Not sure where you getting your info from ...

why not say it was better suited for your pockets? Why would the ks8000 be better suited for you if you was well pleased with the 930D?

Well I am actually just going by what dude above said :lol: I assumed 930D were comparable to the KS8000 by his statement.

I just remember asking here what was comparable to the Sonys 930D and I remember someone saying KS something but it was still not as good as Sony so I assume that it was the two comparable TVs.

I didn't know he traded for a cheaper tv :lol:

Im waiting for 65" 2016 OLED curved goes below 2000.. like 1800. Its gonna be awhile or maybe even never lol

For now just using a 55" Toshiba 1080p got for like 300
 
How would I know there'd be a noticeable and big drop in quality when it came to watching 4K. During bright scenes, they're both similar but when it came to dark scenes there was a noticeable difference. They all looked the pretty damn same when set up side by side. Yeah, I'm indecisive but it's America so :smokin

If I don't have cable and predominantly watch Netflix, Hulu, firestick, etc is a 4k still worth it? Hoping I get a nice discount by the time I move into my new crib in like march or April :lol:

no they don't. However, I can understand a person looking at a 70 inch vizio and saying for 1000 bucks I can get the e-series and it looks the same as a 49" inch ks8000.

When the facts are it looks nothing like it.

You said the KS8000 was better suited for you, but didn't elaborate. So again, my thought is that's better suited to your budget and you want back saying the ks8000 looks damn near like the 930D when the facts is that the 930D is a superior TV.

Now during the holidays the KS8000 was the best bang for the money but if you are going to get technical the 930D is better. The details the motion flow the darkness overall is better. The KS8000 is nice and bright and saturated but if you go into the store and they start demo or by talking to associates they would tell you.

Budget isn't an issue. I clearly stated that when I was watching night scenes in 4K it was much better than the KS8000. Both were equal when I was watching scenes when it was bright and sunny and whatnot but when it came to the night scenes there was no comparison. I can see a lot of background noise and it looked terrible when watching at night with the KS8000.

The only reason Samsung was better suited for me because all of my previous TV's that I've had and watched were Samsung.

Either way, I'm getting the 930D again and will go with the old adage of you get what you pay for.

The Samsung KS9000 is comparable to the Sony 930D. These are the two TVs I was deciding between before I decided to purchase the KS9000 back in August. The biggest considerations I made in my purchase are outlined below.

Samsung KS9000
  • Stand, remote, and HDMI hub (automatically senses components without needing extra remote) are well designed and aesthetically pleasing
  • Does great in bright room environments
  • Powerful Smart TV interface
  • Better for gaming

Sony 930D
  • Picture quality is slightly better in terms of viewing angle and black levels
  • Android TV interface (personally not a fan of this)

Both TVs are very comparable in terms of specs. I'd say that if you have a home theater or watch TV mostly in darkness than the Sony 930D is the best option. If you watch TV in a bright room, game a lot, or just want a more stylish looking TV and remote then the Samsung KS9000 is the way to go.

Budget isn't an issue. I clearly stated that when I was watching night scenes in 4K it was much better than the KS8000. Why don't you look at the 930D compared to the KS9000, instead of the KS8000? If Samsung is better suited for you then it makes most sense to compare the 930D to the KS9000 which is in the same tier. The KS8000 is inferior to both.

If night scenes are that important to you and you are watching mostly in a dark room I'd stick with the 930D though.

My man . Tried to tell cats this last week but they wasnt hearing it... the sony is more because its better. The ks9k is more than the 8k because... its better

If the price leap is justifable is soley up to the consumer
 
I wish I had found this thread before purchasing the 930d just to return it and now wanting it again. Thank you all for the advice and I'll learn from this experience. Been a long time since I've gotten a tv and first time buying one in 4K so I had no idea what I was doing.
