When do shoes become unwearable?

I'm thinking about buying a pair of Jordan 14 Charteuses which came out in 2005. I'm thinking they'd be fine to wear but I'm skeptical as to whether they'll last. Do you think the'll separate or break?

Are they DS?

Those are close depending on if they were worn or how they were stored

XIV's, the glue dries out for the sole and the teeth break off. Plus they can crumble.

They are DS but that's what I was thinking. I really like the Charteuses but I don't know if I'd ever be able to wear them much until they crack.

We're they stored in zip lock or air vacuumed bags? How's the humidity in that city?

if the material has potential to crumble (which 14s do) i would stay away from any when they get close to 10 years old or more, its super sad and sucks. My Ndestrukts are like that, bought 2 pair from 96 and they both crumbled after one wear, i have my PL versions in my closet so i can do a transfer to a retro sole (if they ever release correctly that is)

Age.

I would be cautious with shoes 10+ years old.

Some j's are build like tanks, 11-current last a lot longer.
