Cops nab teen suspect in Brooklyn Foot Locker shooting at Nike 'Yeezy' launch
The 14-year-old gunman allegedly shot Isaiah Martinez, 15, in the left foot at 6 a.m. Saturday after he tried to cut in line for the release of the Kanye West-designed sneakers at the Bushwick store.

Just gotta hope that nothing like this happens if the Macklemore Jordans drop.
I :nerd: wat u did there

Or Macklemore really collaborating wit jordan?

Because Nike, apple, etc. create a situation where that is dangerous. They know when they only release x amount is iPhones in x area, people will get injured. No different than a stadium not having proper security. It's foreseeable. I don't think it's good that companies, schools, concerts etc. can create situation to entice folks into emotional responses. I'm not a fan. Weak argument, but people get harmed during these releases.
What would you suggest they do to prevent these situations?

They're already releasing 99% of their sought after stuff via Twitter links and NDC and as much as it sucks, releasing shoes in limited numbers is a big part of how they continue to generate crazy demand.

I just don't see any scenario in which Nike would be to blame for someone feeling the need to shoot someone in the foot because someone cut in front of them while waiting in line for a sneaker.

Stupid people doing stupid things. It'll always happen. It's their fault

How are you gonna have a gun, be willing to shoot someone, and STILL be in line?!?! I would think you would just rob someone after they buy the shoes and most kids would give up the shoes without getting ****. I'm not saying that the shooting was justified, because it wasn't. But if you're gonna go out there and be an idiot...

This child

1. Brought a gun to buy shoes
2. Shot someone to buy shoes
3. Paying 250 for shoes to take pic for IG with and will sell them after to later on but more shoes

Where would smart fit in all that? Lol

Catching a charge for the chance to lose $250.

Maybe he brought the gun in case some one tried to rob him or if he was really about that life you can't just stand around on the street for hours if you got enemy's. There was an altercation about the line cutting that escalated. I'm actually shocked the kid had enough sense to at least shoot him in the foot and not straight up blast him. That was kinda gangsta for a 14 year old. Thats something Nicky Santoro would do, shoot a guy waiting in line for some shoes in the foot.

bottom line nike has to do away with release dates

but that kills the hype

if there was no release date stuff like this would not happen

i think hype would be even stronger with no release date
but what does nike care or footlocker for that matter

btw that area of bk is not a great place to camp out for shoes at 6:00 am

Went to Burger King the other day and saw these kids who has to be 13 years old and one of them was showing off his gun to his boys. Smh

If I seen a 13 yr old with a gun I would've confronted or call the cops.

Get them while they're young.

Not surprised it happened in that cesspool called Bushwick. The kid didn't only cut the line, he ran his mouth. I would have dipped when the shooter said he was going home to get his gun.

Nobody deserves to be shot for cutting, especially over some shoes. I'm sure there was a dispute though cause it just can't jump from getting caught cutting, to a bullet in his toes. Dude must have stayed in line even though he got caught cutting and started a heated argument.

Nobody needs to get shot for this but there has to be consequences for doing stuff like that.

Obviously if someone spends hours waiting in line and someone else comes and jumps in which could prevent people who spent time waiting from getting their shoe, they have a reason to be upset and there needs to be consequences.

There's many ways to resolve it but we know if the guy was disrespectful enough to cut then they prob wouldn't try to resolve it those ways.

Either mall security or even police have to step in and do something otherwise these situations will continue to happen.

And ppl saying he should fight instead thats the same thing just with lesser immediate consequences. It would resolve nothing.

Ask urself this what if they fought and both guys got kicked out by security...not resolved

the guy who cuts wins the fight...not resolved

the guy who cuts loses the fight...not resolved, he prob would come back with his friends or...A GUN

one of them gets seriously hurt...not resolved

violence causes the stores to stop doing releases....not resolved

Pure stupidity.

young ****** with no guidance...

Sad man. People have lost touch of what life is about.

It's about stuntin on Instagram
It's sad man. Dudes willing to throw their lives away for a material good that won't ever leave this planet :smh:

And........... This is why I don't care about shoes anymore.

Trifecta.

The measures people will take just to possibly acquire a form of irrelevant, false sense of validation are ******* pitiful...:smh: :x
