On the whole updated Cali Gangbang album Vibe failed miserably,

but YG got it down Perfect.

I mean YG album is amazing, he basically soul swiped kendrick's album theme but it flowed so well, but schoolboy kept hyping his album as the updated socal gangster experience but it just sounds sloppy and unfocused.

discuss.

I thought Q's album was pretty solid, but may have lost steam towards the end. I didn't think it was all over the place. He was pretty much rapping consistently throughout IMO. Q even said it in an interview, hipsters or whatever mess with his music more so than "street dudes". His music is different, and I think that's what makes it stand out on it's own. Whether or not that's furthering the west coast scene, I think it's subjective.

YG on the other hand, I'm gonna have to listen to his album before I can comment on anything.

Nope , Fixed

Dj Mustard got it down perfect. Dude is filthy on the production side of things. He got something like 8 songs on the top 40 right Now.

YG album wasn't better than Q's though, yes it had more of a traditional west coast vibe but that doesn't make it "better".

I'm trying to understand why everyone thinks YG's album is so good
Told a story and was entertaining

I appreciate the regionalism, but the beats could have been more diverse on there IMO

Still a great album to me tho

Mustard is the answer nothing else to be said here

Oxy was VERY solid IMO. I just can't even get to listening to anything YG just off of "toot it & boot it". Yeah I know supposedly that is not his true style...I just can't. I cringe just saying that song title...so damn corny.

There's only a couple songs really gang-banging, like Los Awesome especially.

The rest is mostly a story of a man's struggle growing up poor and overcoming substance abuse with some party music sprinkled in. Over good to great beats, and without any corny love songs.

But you'd rather listen to a simple dude switching Cs with Bs... ok

This thread will make me go listen to YG's album because i honestly thought oxymoron was excellent.

Gangsta
Hoover Street
Perscription
Break the Bank

All are some of the best songs ive heard so far this year

Collard Greens
Studio
Hell of a Night
Man of The YEar

All get played at the gym for me great party songs

Album was diverse and i couldn't find one track that i skipped on the regular.

Tbh both albums/rappers are whack :rolleyes

DJ Mustard is terrible. Really don't see the hype behind this Grey Poupon *** ***** |I

Both albums were good. I would probably rate them both 4/5. I think they both have two different sounds. Production wise and lyrically.

I like School boy as a person, he's a funny character amd a black Hippy like myself.lol

His Music is OK could be better, nothing that I have to listen to.

Q dropped an album I can picture myself listening to 20 years from now.

On the other hand, I personally think YG's album was mostly generic party beats and mediocre rapping.

I still haven't gotten Q's album but eventually will. Haven't even peeped any songs outside of Collard Greens just cause I wanted to listen to it in its entirety.

As far of YG's album, he dropped something I had very low expectations (or even none) for, and I was shocked at how good it was. Even though I only kept 4 songs in rotation, from top to bottom its not bad at all. It's like when I listened to Plies' first two albums, fully expecting trash and was pleasantly surprised that it was far from it.
