What things make you realize just how lazy and pitiful society has become?

Ohh, I've been waiting for this thread.

- The Internet: We have easier access to more information than any library ever in existence, the tools to communicate, share, and collaborate to fix the world's ills...and the vast majority of the internet is used to post struggle plates and get tweets off in the hope of getting retweeted.

- Fracking: A practice that has unknown consequences, but is already proven to cause cancer, expose methane to the atmosphere (100x worse than CO2, btw,) and results in flammable tap water. Yet, people keep promoting it. People are so dependent on Oil (both in material and in mind) that we're simply unable to see that we're destroying our planet. Only when the last tree falls, the last fish is poisoned, and the last ocean polluted will we realize that we can't eat/drink money.

- The CIA/FBI: 18 material witnesses died within 3 years after JFK's death - six by gunfire, three in motor accidents, two by suicide, one from a cut throat, one from a karate chop to the neck, three from heart attacks, and two from natural causes. I mean, if NOTHING ELSE, READ THE LIST OF THE DECEASED AND PAY ATTENTION TO THE DATES http://www.assassinationresearch.com/v1n2/deaths.html CONTRA, COINTELPRO... the list goes on. And the worst part is, people still think these agencies are protecting us. :smh:

- Political Correctness: I feel like this is a uniquely American problem. If you live here, you know what I mean.

- Obesity is considered a disease. OBESITY. Something you can get rid LITERALLY BY WALKING AND EATING DECENTLY. I went from almost 300 pounds to 215 in ONE summer. I know them cats in the electric scooters at Wal-Mart can lose at least 50lbs/year.

- Pedophiles and rapists get 5-7 years, if that. Drug offenders, drug users, and "gang affiliates" get football numbers. Businessmen who steal millions of dollars from the common man? 6 months in a low security prison and a couple years probation. Just look at this story from today. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/24/n...ontentCollection=N.Y. / Region&pgtype=article

I don't wanna live on this planet anymore. I'll volunteer for the first misson to Titan.

Taking the elevator to the 2nd floor. I get it if you have a heavy package or something but with just regular attire and maybe a bag, it's faster to just go up the stairs
i agree but ive learned that many buildings lock stairwells from the inside...

at a few of the offices I've worked at (no idea about residential buildings), stairwells were only accessible from the outside and if entered locked you in until you reached the ground floor...our building manager explained that it was for safety reasons and to curb thefts and such
