Is Kanye a top 10 rapper of all-time?

i can name 10 rappers who are lyrically better than Kanye, and they might not be as relevant as he is right now. College Dropout, Late Registration & Graduation he showed he could be semi-lyrical if he tried. but as of recently he's been dumbing it down for unknown reasons.

so you just don't know what slander means. cool
Ok.

My question is do they make better music though?

On another note is it safe to say Kanyes best days are behind him?....I listened to yeezus the other day and wow......such a hard falloff from my dark twisted fantasy

I'm old school meaning that if I look up song credits I shouldn't see 5,6,7+ writers on one record for a rapper...

I do think he's top 10-15 producers and top 5 beat makers... There is a difference

As far as rapping he's not top 10 but overall music wise he's in my top 10. His discography is as good as anybodys IMO.

:smh: terrible

But kanye is top 10 hip hop "musician" since most of yall are getting "rapper" confused with lyricist, dudes really saying big l & kurupt etc make better music than kanye :smh:

it depends on what u like. i honestly enjoy kanye music and got just about all his albums. i dont really like drake and dont own any of his albums but i can tell from what i hear on the radio that drake is a better rapper then kayne. there is nothing wrong with enjoying someone that is just lyrical and doesnt have great beats as opposed to someone that has great beats with horrible lazy lyrics.

when it comes to a rapper like big L and u say kayne makes better music? that depends on the listener and what they prefers to listen to, someone lyrical like big L or someone with great production like kayne with decent lyrics. I personaly enjoy both but i know people that would ask u to never compare kanye to big L.

He has the greatest catalogue in hip hop IDC IDC IDC
All hits no misses batting 1000
no one else has ever done that. Well BIG. But only two albums doe

All you bums can FOH with that production talk
Kanye is overrated as a producer and underrated as a rapper.
Write that down. You're welcome.

I mean...he's not, but he's a hell of a lot more entertaining than a lot of cats who are "technically" better rappers than him.

Just because you can rap doesn't mean you put out good music.

Btw I think it's hilarious when he alters words to make them fit. See: "han-ker-chaf", "mor-nee-un", etc.

People don't listen to Ye for deep lyrics, complex rap...they just love the vibe/bounce his music has.

Jay perfected the balance between lyrics AND vibe/bounce.

Years ago yea. His production has always been overrated though. Especially now. He just puts a bunch of junk together nowadays. All I hear is the music from MK 3 Living Forest and some African drums. Sounds like some Animal Planet type **** :smh: Do people really like that junk?????????

He is a good producer, but he ain't this musical genius that people make him out to be.

And I absolutely disagree about his catalog

CD - great
LR - certified classic in my book
808 - it was cool, nothing great
MBDTF - liked it a lot

WTT - thought there was 2-3 good songs
Yeezus - :smh:

So does that mean ATCQ>Kanye?

Dude said he had the "greatest catalog in hip hop IDC IDC IDC" (which is a clear indication of the mentality we're dealing with here.....).

He didn't differentiate between solo and/or group.

You could easily throw DeLa and The Beastie Boys in there, among others. Especially since Beasties were on that experimental **** Kanye's trying well before him, where you wonder if you can even classify it as rap/hip-hop.

Imo you can't go wrong with kanyes, outkasts, or ATCQs catologues. I feel those 3 have flawless catologues. Can't say the same for 97% of other artist. Every album that those 3 have dropped have been very good to classic to me I can't really say that for other artists or groups if any.
