I can't decide help me out bros! I gotta sign a lease by tomorrow.

Apartment:

pros

- chill roommates that drink/smoke

- pool and gym

- stumbling distance from bars

cons

- a bit messy

- more expensive

- smaller

Townhouse:

pros

- Huge living area and bigger room

- Cheaper

- Much nicer looking on the inside

- landlord doesn't mind throwing parties

cons

- wack roommates that don't go out

- smells like Indian food

- a little further out from the bars, would have to cab to and from

Townhouse

Put up with the smell and create your own smell

Make the roommates cool with your awesomeness

Move into a place by yourself > moving in with people you don't know

Regardless whether you take a townhouse or a apt, your gonna get tired of your roommates within a few months (especially if you never lived with em before)

Pick the one with better Roomates. No one likes to come home to crappy personalities!

the first things chicks notice when they come thru is how it smells. avoid uncomforable smells (and conversations).

Neither, aspire for hermitage.

Leave this land, go deep into the forrest, past the rivers, into the mountains. Build a shelter, that is where you'll find true happiness.

Leave all your possessions behind, bring nothing but a modest piece of cloth to warm yourself.

You will be one with nature. Welcome.

pretty much...clearly this is the the smartest choice to do

come out in the woods with us..we out hea :pimp:

The apartment sounds like the better of the 2. Avoiding the cab fare should help a little towards the rent difference.

Apartment.

You don't want your clothes and your personal possession smelling like Indian, due you?

Depends on where you're at in life

If you're in young, in school, and want to have as much fun as you can, go for the apartment.

If you're like a grad student who needs quiet time to study, or have a job and think the peace of mind would be worth it, then go for the town home.

P.S. even if the owner is cool with parties at the townhouse, your roommates might not be. Don't want to be in a house with awkward roommates creeping on you from the staircase while you're trying to entertain guests.

wasn't expecting that lol

You still in college? If so, hate to sound like a killjoy, but go with the townhouse. It'll be quieter so you can study and you'll have more room to relax. It could be hard to be productive in that apartment environment and it sounds like there will be several things that can distract you. It's also less money which is big if you're college age.

If your roommates don't want to go out, no big deal you can chill with your friends who will live in the apartment. Just because they don't go out doesn't mean you can't go with others and if your landlord is cool with parties then there will probably be a few nearby. If there will be, then there's less reason to go to the bars.

On the flip side, if you think you won't be able to get along with them at all, don't do it. You don't want to be living with people like that. Also, take into account the cost to going to a gym since it isn't included with the townhouse. Not sure how it'll affect the price, but the townhouse could end up being around the same price as the apartment if you plan on going to the gym often.
