I'm sorry, but that is 100% wrong.
yep. dudes act like under armour is an upstart mom and pop shop. Lots of ignorant and stupid posts in here. People aren't even seeing the big picture, UA wants to expand into China. At $85-100, the shoe will sell like crazy there. Kids in china want to buy the shoes of the best player in the NBA, they can't afford to spend a two week paycheck on a pair of Lebrons.

I was hesitant at first when they released the news on these, but MORE THAN HAPPY how they came out... And was lucky to swoop a pair on release day!  The colored specks are on point on the silver swoosh and the shoe just stands out.. 10/10 for me.

Until they get some footwear designers in there who know what they are doing, I'll stand by what I said (I am well aware of their status as an apparel company).....

Just because you get an athletes name on the dotted line doesn't always make it a slam dunk. UA needs to get people in place behind the scenes to make this a success.

The amount of hypebeasts in the thread is alarming.  Without any confirmation and sight unseen they already condemn UA and will only wear Nike products.  Then they wonder why Nike keeps raising prices, because they will still buy it regardless.

Not true. The thing I find funny, even in the UA thread is people want GOOD LOOKING SHOES and not 1 UA supporter has gone on a limb to defend that, only performance. What shoe collector in the US cares if kids in China get pairs really? I agree it's good for KD and IF UA makes a decent looking sneaker I'm all for it. As of right now though show me a basketball shoe that UA has that's casually appealing? I know Nike can deliver. They have for years. Regardless of how you feel about hype or prices you can't deny they make the best looking basketball shoes period. People defend the UA move like there getting a cut of his deal or UAs China expansion profits. Who cares, we just want fly sneakers.

I know right! That's like calling someone a hype beast because they live in Chicago and they like the Bulls

Op on that loud riffing about concerns that don't concern him. Why even come to niketalk.com talking about hypebeast. Repped on that Joulze!

$32.5M a year would not ruin UA. Anyone that knows anything about marketing knows that isn't a short term payoff. Signing the reigning MVP and MAKING A GOOD SHOE could put them on the map for years to come. Making a desirable shoe is key though, and it has to be aesthetically pleasing for casual too. Nike is worn for hoops and style. Same can't be said for most other brands...

It's an absurd deal that could ruin the company. Unless UA has somehow convinced Nikes best designers to switch to the dark side....I don't see it.

Regardless of who becomes the face of Nike basketball....the advertising/marketing campaigns and cutting edge design> who actually wears the shoes...

An athletes endorsement always helps, but if the shoes are pleasing to the eye, they will move.

No it wont ruin the company. That's a drop in the bucket. Like Chris Rock said, if someone can give you that much imagine how much they're making. UA has to prove to the market and buyers that they can produce a shoe that has casual appeal. Although they'll already make their money once stores order product, the people will decide if Durant has appeal outside of Nike. Until the Nerf IV, Durant's line did bad at retail. It's a deal that they'll certainly regret if they don't see their share of the market increase.
