going on vacation to LA for a week soon. any suggestions on what to do? food, entertainment, tourist attractions, etc?

Two things I always do when I'm in LA... Grab a bite to eat and some beers at Simmzy's in Manhattan Beach. Go for along run on the beachway from Redondo through Hermosa and up to Manhattan. Some really dope ocean view houses.

NO HO (north hollywood) flight club, grammy museum, museum of death, and vinice beach of course. Check out them bunz, i go every other weekend

Subscribed, taking a 8 day trip to CA, starting in LA (staying 2-3 days) then driving up to SF and hitting spots along the way, trying to keep it a beach kind of trip (with exception to SF). Will do what Chopper said

There's nothing really to do in NoHo though. That's the city next to me. They have a small art district that's like two blocks long. That's about it.

Not sure what you're into, but for museums there's Getty and LACMA.

For shopping, try the west side. You have a plethora of boutiques around the area from the hypebeast stuff to high end brands.

Lots of foods. If you want real Chinese food, stop by the 626. I also like Fathers Office. Tried both in Santa Monica and Culver City.

For tourist stuff, you can just hit up Hollywood Blvd and do a TMZ tour for some laughs.

Thai town and Koreatown are next to each other too so you can hit that up for good eats.

Griffith Observatory is good for the view and some pics.

Costa Mesa mall is world class. One of the best I've seen anywhere.

Weather is pretty nice this time of the year so be sure to hit up one of the beaches like Chopper said.

A lot of shoe guys like to visit Rif LA in too when in town.

You will get more helpful suggestions if you tell us:

Where you're coming from
If you will have a car
Your budget
And what side of town you will be staying on

i'll be with family in Alhambra, so transportation will be no problem

budget is average, i'm not really looking for high end restaurants, just good places with good food

Theres plenty of good chinese food in Alhambra and San Gabriel Valley in general + you're a short drive to DTLA and pasadena which have a ton of great places to grab brunch or go out for nightlife. You might want to go to a dodger game as well.

If you're not afraid of heights go hiking in Griffith Park and check out The Observatory.

Check out an improv show at the UCB Theater. Something like Facebook on Wednesdays is entertaining and cheap.

Taco Tuesdays.

NoHo????Since when did Cali use that name???

New York's been using NoHo and SoHo for the longest time :smh: (north of Houston street/south of Houston street)

Anyways, to answer your question, go to in n out, fat burger, and roscoes as far as food goes

Go to West Compton, Watts, Chesterfield Square, Vista, Athens, Slauson, and Westmont.

Wear red or blue.

Mean mug everybody, Los Angeles folks love that.

Yeah I mean never heard it called NoHo.
Serious?

I've used and been hearing NoHo ever since I can remember. Maybe it's because I live in the valley.

Like stated, nothing there as I have mentioned as well.

WeHo (West Hollywood) is where the young folks like to hang out. (Save the gay jokes).

Since you'll be in Alhambra, you're going to have access to a lot of real Chinese food. I usually drive to El Monte and such for the real stuff. You know, when they don't speak English

Mr. Pizza has some dope pizzas with sweet potato crust. There's one in Little Tokyo across from Rif. Everytime I pick up a paycheck I eat there.

Alhambra isn't too far from the OC. When I was in undergrad we used to go there to get carne asada fries.

Other tourist places: LA Live, Bev Hills (it's funny how almost everyone just take pics and buy nothing).

I'm not sure how long you're staying for or how far your family will take you. There's also the Irvine Spectrum that's cool for some pics, and you're only a couple of hours from San Diego. I love SD and its vibe. I go there often myself.

Like another member mentioned, you're close to Pasadena. A lot of good eats in Old Town within walking distance.

Portos is good. Eggslut is highly overrated IMO. Met up with 3 other Nters and hit that up. Was still hungry after I left. Price to quality ratio isn't that good to me.

There's not much to do at Grove and Americana aside from the handful of restaurants but good tourist places for pics.

Silver Lake is good for food spots but be wary of the hipsters
