Official Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Marcos Maidana Thread. May 3rd, 2014.

His first fight at welter? If his resume since then does not impress, then you're one in a million.

Idk if you're talking about Maidana or Alexander but whenever I see Maidana I just think of that fight lol. They both have good resumes tho, I just can't see a way he beats Mayweather

Oh I meant Maidana's resume after the Alexander fight  but I agree, I don't see a way he wins more than a round.

HEATHEN HEATHEN As much as I clown on Khan and his chin he does have to get some respect for standing in there and showing heart (does need to learn to back down occasionally). But I'll still stand on the side that the ref let that fight go on way too long rather than say Khan took those shots well. He may not have gone down but he was out on his feet during the round.

I can't even talk about that fight without getting upset

He was def out on his feet in that round but he came back and finished strong in the 12th.

Fight was def polarizing for fight-fans, but I think we can all agree it was one helluva fight. I wouldn't mind seeing Khan and Maidana go at it again at some point in the future.

Showtime is so smart with the marketing. They are making maidana seem like he could take down money lmao they always do this specially when they did the show with Floyd and Ghost

Khan has a great chin. Apparently Khan was taking shots from Ward and Angulo in sparring but unfortunately they don't remember.

Lol just in case people don't get the sarcasm

wow only 1.5 mil? sheesh....fighter won't even see half that

contemplating calling outta work to watch the fight......not sure yet though

exact reason I hate these 6 week schedules we're on because I always schedule a Saturday that something is going on

Yeah, Marcos definitely got the short end of the stick, especially when you consider Robert Guerrero made $3 million when he fought Floyd. It's not like he's getting any of the PPV revenue either.

You can probably catch a replay when you get off of work. I'm not expecting much from this card and I don't think I'll even watch it. Khan/Collazo could get interesting, Broner/Molina is whatever, and Mayweather/Maidana will be as exciting as Pacquiao/Rios.

True I might just avoid social media that night and watch the whole card on Sunday. I know mayweather will win off gate but the others will still be fresh I guess

reports say marcos purse is lower because he is getting a share of the PPV.

To the casual boxing fans don't just watch the Floyd Mayweather vs Marcos Maidana fight but the undercard should be entertaining maybe even more so than the main event.

Khan vs Collazo should be good. I hope Collazo knocks out Khan.

Also Adrien Broner returns...

Showtime PPV > HBO PPV

It doesn't matter how little they get paid

it's the chance to beat the undefeated. If/once that happens the game changes completely.

And for most it's still their biggest payday.
It's a great purse, it's just small in comparison.
