**Official Lil Wayne Thread ** **No Ceilings 2 drops Thanksgiving**

D'usse is dope. Don't see how you could listen and not be nodding to it or thinking wayne is back to 2007 Wayne or something

Thought it was better than the believe me.

Believe me I didn't feel like I wanted to play again, but this had me wanting to go back cause it was jamming

Wayne really has a song called d'usse??? I wonder if him and hov have a behind the scenes partnership because that's all kinds of free promo

Look at this guy, trying again.

That Soo Wu at the end , why?

Same thought as soon as I saw the thread title. But then I realized the song doesn't even have a traditional hook saying Dusse, so Im really confused.

joint was cool till second verse
when he tries throwing so many words into each bar and dont rhyme
sound like no ceiling wayne
idk man still dont think i would listen to it again

Beat is hot, Tune trying lyrically. Overall 6/10. Yeah he ran outta' stuff to say on the second verse

Let's see how C5 turns out to be. What's the tentative release date?

I like the direction he's moving in. Wayne might be back. Or at least back to tolerable, which I'll settle for. I like both new tracks.

i like it, both new tracks are okay considering he dont really got much to say anymore

Coincidentally yesterday some 05-08 wayne came up on shuffle yesterday and i forgot how much i used to like him

That No Ceilings comparison was spot on. That is exactly the Wayne this sounds like. I like it though. I just wish he was actually talking about something.

No Ceilings was

In my opinion Wayne has dug himself into a hole.

He could drop something fire, beat on point, sticks to the subject with solid lyrics but I feel people would still say its "just okay" because it is Wayne.

Or completely not believe ppl when they say that the song was actually good. Cause im not. Im done giving this dude chances hoping he can come back to the way he was. Theres too many other artists out there to listen to now to deal with his mediocre stuff

This hole you speak of is true.

But this new d'usse record is hot garbage and Drake carried believe me. He really just goes off the wall and says cleverly stupid things about guns drugs and women. It literally is that simple.

The crazy thing I'll say about wayne though, is that, he's been doing that kind of style of rapping for YEARS. Even "Prime Wayne" was virtually rapping the same way. IMO this new age of Rap, with Cole, Drake, Dot, and a few others, have made wayne seem like he's "lost it" but he hasn't lost it, it's just a matter of the people vouching for a new style of rapping that they want to hear. No one wants to hear a full rap record with tired similies and metaphors about guns and vagina.

Wayne has not "fallen" at all. It just has to do with the fact that people's rap sensibilities have changed and that has to do with where Rap is at now.

Wow your absolutely right, I never thought of it that way.

Prime Wayne is Carter and Carter 2. He was not rapping like this. He did change.

BM Jr is not how he raps now
Snitch is not how he raps now
This Is The Carter is not how he raps now
Hustler Muzik is not how he raps now
Feel Me is not how he raps now

Meh, I wasn't a fan of Wayne during the days you cited. Even so, most of the rap community would not say that that's his prime. They would point to like 05-07/08 ish, where all of his records were leaking like crazy, and every DJ had possession of 1 or 2 unreleased Wayne freestyle or songs.

So did he change from the Carter 1 and Carter 2 days? Sure, but that's not the era that I was referring to. That's also not the era that made wayne into the polarizing superstar that he is today. Most of the culture would say that his run between 05-Carter 3 would be his "prime" and that's when most fell in love with lil wayne.
