LOCK THIS UP. GO TO SEASON THREAD!

Interesting perspective on Lacob's approach to being a "know-it-all".

Edit- also  at Scalabrine.

This was really interesting perspective by Bucher. Especially his Cp3 assessments.

Paul said that Willie Green suggested he pick up Curry at half court and he started doing that in the 2nd half.  Granted he got away with murder with that defense of his, but Im disappointed the Warriors didn't make any adjustments off that.  Is Green available to be our assistant coach next year?

Or how about us amnestying Charlie Bell just for a chance  to sign Tyson Chandler?  How do you waste such a valuable asset just for a CHANCE to sign someone? You lay it all out on the table and just as he's about to put pen to paper you cut Bell loose.  Funny how Bucher started to say something along the lines of "even I could have told you Chandler wouldn't come here."

Just to touch on Lacob being really involved - I personally do not mind that.  Like Simmons mentioned, he's a young owner and he'll learn with time to take a step back.

Regarding M Jax......he's done a lot for the team over the past 2 years but I think he has reached his apex in terms of success and that apex is NOT leading a championship team. Yes, he has done great things. A great motivational leader who can get guys to work hard under him and cosign to his strategy.....but the problem is.....his strategy. So many cases of poor coaching, poor rotations, poor adjustments.......

Best case scenario is you can keep M Jax in his current role and pair him up with a great offensive assistant coach. I know this will never happen, but M Jax as head coach with a D'Antoni as an assistant coach would work well. An X and O guy.

God this irritates me:

Tim Kawakami ‏@timkawakami 9m
One major flash point, according to a source: Mark Jackson and asst-GM Kirk Lacob have zero relationship since a blow-up recently.

We're not on the inside, so there's no way for us to tell. On one end, Jackson has done a lot. On the other end, he won't let anybody touch his staff and it's clear that he could use better assistants.
I'll withhold judgement until next season.

Ya'll need to listen Sportsguys bs report w/ Bucher from yesterday. Plenty of inside perspective.

I hate this.  HATE HATE HATE.  We are finally establishing our franchise as one to be taken seriously, with a competent front office, and then this fiasco has started.  I honestly believe this team regresses a decent amount with a new coach.  And it pisses me off that after a 51 win season and taking the Clippers to a game 7, we are even having this discussion.

Done:

@sam_amick: Mark Jackson will not be back as Golden State Warriors coach, @USATODAYsports has learned. Story to come.

In spite of 2 decades of rooting for a terrible basketball team, this is the first time in my life I am ashamed to be a Warriors fan.  SMFH.

Can't say I'm surprised.

How do I feel about it? Jackson definitely didn't deserve it. But, I sure hope we can hire someone who can take us to the next level.

Dang, I've been posting in the old thread.

My Bad.....

Warriors Relieve Head Coach Mark Jackson of His Duties

The Golden State Warriors have relieved Head Coach Mark Jackson of his duties, the team announced today. Jackson, who recently completed his third season as head coach of the team, guided the Warriors to a 51-31 record this season and a combined 121-109 record (.526) during his tenure in the Bay Area. Jackson was named the 24th head coach in the team's West Coast history on June 6, 2011.

“It’s never easy to make a decision of this nature,” said General Manager Bob Myers. “Mark has accomplished many good things during his three years with the organization, including his role in helping elevate this team into a better position than it was when he arrived nearly 36 months ago. We’re appreciative of his dedication and commitment since his arrival and are extremely grateful for his contributions. However, as an organization, we simply feel it’s best to move in a different direction at this time.”

“Mark Jackson has had a big impact on the improvement of our team and the success that we’ve had over the last couple of years,” said Owner & CEO Joe Lacob. “Nonetheless, we must make some difficult decisions in our day-to-day operations of the club and this would certainly qualify as one of those examples. We wish Mark the best of luck in his future endeavors and thank him for his contributions over the last three years.”

Jackson, 49, became just the third head coach in franchise history to lead a team to at least 50 wins in a season, joining Don Nelson and Alvin Attles, who both posted 50-win seasons twice with the Warriors. With 121 regular-season victories overall, Jackson ranks fourth on the franchise’s all-time wins list, trailing Attles (557), Nelson (422) and Eddie Gottlieb (263). Additionally, the 98 regular-season wins posted over the last two seasons (51 in 2013-14 & 47 in 2012-13) represent the Warriors best two-year stretch since the team posted 99 victories combined in the 1990-91 (44) and 1991-92 (55) seasons, which was also the last time Golden State made consecutive postseason appearances.

^^ that's the truth.

now you're gonna have a rift between players and upper management.

Greeeeaaaaattt...... sMH

Although I'm not a fan of this move, I don't think its a bad move.

I think the Curry thing is a bit blown out of proportion. I think the team loved Mark Jackson for his motivational aspects more than anything else. Nothing winning can't cure.
